Jalon Walker is a smartest kid in the draft... You can't coach it and you need that in today's NFL.
  • He's 6'2" and weighs 245 pounds
  • He's a former off-ball linebacker who's played more stand-up EDGE for the Bulldogs
  • He's also a student-athlete who has a 4.0 GPA and plays basketball and track and field
  • In 2021, he ran the 100-meter dash in 11.94 seconds
  • Exceptional athleticism, has run a blazing 4.50 40-yard dash time, placing him in the 94th percentile for linebackers
  • Versatility to play both inside and outside linebacker positions, offering valuable scheme flexibility for NFL defenses
  • High-motor player with a knack for getting to the quarterback, leading Georgia with five sacks in 2023
  • Strong tackling technique, consistently wrapping up and finishing plays with authority
  • Impressive football IQ, likely influenced by his father's background as a college football coach
  • Effective in pass rush situations, demonstrated by multiple multi-sack games and consistent quarterback pressures
  • Solid coverage skills, showing ability to drop back and disrupt passing lanes
  • High character individual and team leader, actively involved in campus organizations beyond football

Fun player but a bit of boom or bust to me.

Think he’s an average off the ball LBr and not sure he has the desired length to hold up against the run as an Edge.

Will be interested to see his height / weight / arm length and testing at the combine.

Agree with your take; I think he’s purely an EDGE.

Puff piece
4.5 Forty for his size is fast but NOT BLAZING. That 100M time is not that great at all the womens world record is a full second plus faster

I don't see the top 10 hype around him. He's got juice as a speed rusher, but Pearce seems like the same kind of player with 2 years of big production vs Walker's 1.

I'm also discounting his LB experience and evaluating him solely as a DE. Maybe if you are a Brian Flores type who drops his rush LBs into coverage often, Walker's experience there is a perk. But for most teams, their front seven guys are either rushing 90% of the time, or covering 90% of the time. Here in Dallas, Walker would be rushing.

Agree…I’d take Pearce over him without hesitation.

Big production in the SEC and has the length to add more mass for the position.

As we discussed a few weeks ago, probably will be viewed as an Edge Rusher, which is his best position.

We really need more of a traditional Mike Linebacker.

He reminds me a bit of Bruce Irvin, and I think he will be that caliber in the pro's. Now Irvin was pretty good, but pick 12 good?

I think hybrid LB/Pass rusher is only really used as a LB in more niche situations. You look at some the guys that do it (Bonnito, Van NOy, Greenaed, Cooper), their tackle stats are pretty meager. Usually about 50 or so. Admittedly this is based looking up stats, so take it for what its worth

love the guy.
later in the year...he seemed to be showing up more than mykel williams.
i'd love either one...williams first.
but walker is a helluva player.
always around the ball.

Absolutely not. He will be an off ball linebacker with the ability to blitz. He will not be an edge.

Jalon Walker will NOT be an edge in the nfl. Especially if picked by the Cowboys.

You sure that 100m time isn’t 10.94? The girls can run 11.94.

poor man's Micah but Micah had a lot of questions whether he can hold up full time as a pass rusher as well.i think he should have transferred out of Georgia rather than only playing part time .
