similar to Micah in that he doesnt rush the passer a lot in college ,so the scouts have to be on point again if we draft him.our biggest pass rush problem is that teams will double Micah now and the other guys are not getting there,we need better pass rush and that could mean our guys getting better or the draft.also i like Walker more than Williams for sure.

He reminds me a bit of Bruce Irvin, and I think he will be that caliber in the pro's. Now Irvin was pretty good, but pick 12 good?

I’d need to be 100% sure Zim or whoever our next DC is going to be could make it work.

He kind of plays the Micah role so can we maximize his talent with 2 of those kind of players?

Upside is fun but the risk worries me.

Absolutely not. He will be an off ball linebacker with the ability to blitz. He will not be an edge.

imo he is the 2nd best pass rusher in this draft and he can also line up all along the line.his get off is similar to Micah but he is not as strong as Micah right now.

Agree…good player Im just a little worried about how he’d fit in.

He lack of length for a DE is also a little concerning.

Not specific to this player but we aren't a team that needs to be drafting guys whose position isn't clear or are tweeners with our early picks.

We need guys with a clear position or role and with the production in that position to make us nigh 100% confident in them stepping into the NFL & performing.

Both Zach Martin and Tyler Smith were college LT’s that became all-pro at a different position.
Hell, most players have to drastically change the way they play even if they stay at the same position. College play doesn’t directly translate at most positions

Only drafting the “safe” guys that directly fit a need is a sure fire way to miss out on high level talent.

And I hate to break it to you…but plugging in starters with our 1st and 2nd round picks ain’t saving this team. There’s too much work to do with this roster. The goal should be to draft high level difference makers, because there’s about 3 on the entire team.

But to play along Watt was almost 6’5 with 33+ inch arms.

If we want a pass rusher just take Pearce or Williams.

changing linemen position isn't the same as not knowing if a guy is a LB or Edge or does he grade well enough at either to feel comfortable he can at least play one at a high level.

"Safe" is the entire purpose of a well scouted & ranked board. I hate to break it to you but missing on guys in the 1st & 2nd is exactly why there is so much work to do on this roster. Taco, Mazi, Jaylon, LVE, Bossman Fat, etc.. If all those guys become just "solid to above average starters" and are still playing, the nucleus of the team is solid and we can take more risks trying to put final touches on the roster.

Micah & Zach were well regarded players during the draft process. They were pretty "safe" picks. Tyler is an example of well scouted & ranked. They apparently thought more highly of him than most other organizations and have been rewarded for being correct.

Micah was arguably the defensive player in that draft as a LBr.

We just got lucky that under the hood he was an all world Edge Rusher.

I would not call him all world as a edge rusher. There are some in the NFL that are comparable

Those players failing had absolutely nothing to do with position. 2 of them had serious injury concerns, 1 openly admitted to not liking football, and 1 was known for having a terrible attitude. And LVE wasn’t a bust by any means anyway. So I guess Taco was the closest thing to a “safe” pick, and he was drafted specifically because he fit the scheme rather than drafting the most talented player….the thing I’m arguing against doing

But all that aside…what specific skill set do you think Walker lacks to be successful as either a Lb or edge rusher?
