I am in the middle of watching it currently. I think I am up to the first Cowboys-Commanders game. I have a couple takes from it so far:
- Dez appeared uninterested and unmotivated to me a number of times throughout the show so far. I can see now the writing on the wall that the team may have been seeing behind closed doors.
- The Zeke suspension clearly distracted not only himself but I think the entire offense. The same could be said for the flag issue. It just sucked the energy out of the season.
- Jerry is a double-edge sword. I can appreciate him wanting to be so hands on but at the same time I think it can also hinder the team. Let the coaches do their thing. Do you really need to be in the locker room after every game Jerry? Do other owners do this?
- Jerry knows they let Romo down. He admits Romo deserved better and should have a ring. I suppose that is good (that Jerry has a conscience).
- For some reason I never pictured Garrett having such a foul mouth. Now, it doesn't offend me in the least, I just didn't expect it out of him for some reason.
- The Cowboys new facility is damn nice, but man, does it scream Corporate America. Especially with Jerry flying around/landing in his personal helicopter. The NFL is without a doubt a big business.
- The Jones' kids don't seem too bad. I think Stephen is the favorite. He seems to be the one mostly getting the keys to the football team handed to him. At any rate, must be nice being born into that. "Hello! Welcome to the world. Here is a billion (plus) dollar NFL team that will be yours one day."
- I know I am going to get tomatoes thrown at me on this one, but.........Garrett seems like an alright guy. He does really try to pound a message into his team. He seems mostly respected from his coaches and players. I'm not saying I suddenly think he is an amazing coach. I am just saying I have a different viewpoint on him. Also, man, can that guy give a dirty look! You see how pissed he looked during the Broncos game? If looks could kill........
I'm really enjoying the show. I think it was well done. I enjoy seeing some behind the scene glimpses. Jon Hamm does a good job narrating. Also, it looks really sharp on my 4K TV. Wish the NFL games looked that good.
