NEW YORK (AP) — Chris Johnson (FSY) didn't get any votes for MVP. He didn't miss any for The Associated Press 2009 NFL All-Pro team.

The 2,000-yard rusher from the Tennessee Titans was the only unanimous choice for the squad, announced Thursday. He's joined in the backfield by Colts quarterback Peyton Manning (FSY), who won an unprecedented fourth Most Valuable Player Award last week, when only quarterbacks received votes.

"That'd be a good thing," said Johnson, who won the Offensive Player of the Year award Wednesday. "Because I feel like if you put a season out there, out of those dudes who got votes or the dudes who won, I wouldn't feel they had a better season than I had, and broke as many records in one season that I had."

For setting the league mark for yards from scrimmage and becoming the sixth 2,000-yard rusher in NFL history, Johnson got all 50 votes from a nationwide panel of sports writers. One other player, San Francisco inside linebacker Patrick Willis (FSY), came close with, appropriately, 49. Cornerbacks Charles Woodson (FSY) of Green Bay, the Defensive Player of the Year, and Darrelle Revis (FSY) of the New York Jets each got 48, as did Oakland punter Shane Lechler (FSY).

"I just think Patrick is a very unique guy," 49ers coach Mike Singletary said. "He's a guy who's always going to be around the ball. He has the instincts. He has the speed. He can be where he wants to be."

He's on the All-Pro team for the second time in his three pro seasons. The other inside linebacker, Baltimore's Ray Lewis (FSY), made it for the seventh time.

Other veteran All-Pros include Manning, chosen for the fifth time, as were Minnesota guard Steve Hutchinson (FSY) and Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams (FSY), and Lechler.

The Vikings had the most players on the team with four — running back Adrian Peterson (FSY) and defensive end Jared Allen (FSY) also made it. Next was Indianapolis with three: Manning, tight end Dallas Clark (FSY), and DE Dwight Freeney (FSY).

New Orleans (guard Jahri Evans (FSY) and safety Darren Sharper), (FSY) Dallas (outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware (FSY) and defensive tackle Jay Ratliff), (FSY) the Jets (Revis and center Nick Mangold), Denver (tackle Ryan Clady (FSY) and defensive end Elvis Dumervil) (FSY) and Cleveland (tackle Joe Thomas (FSY) and kick returner Joshua Cribbs) (FSY) had two players.

"To be selected for the All-Pro team is really overwhelming to me," Clady said. "There are so many great tackles playing right now. To be recognized among them is truly a blessing. I would like to thank my teammates and coaches for this honor."

In all, there were 15 AFC players and 12 from the NFC selected.

Sixteen players made All-Pro for the first time: Johnson, Woodson, Revis, Sharper, Dumervil, Ratliff, Cribbs, Mangold, Evans, Thomas, Clady, Clark, New England receiver Wes Welker (FSY), Philadelphia fullback Leonard Weaver (FSY), San Diego placekicker Nick Kaeding and Arizona safety Adrian Wilson (FSY).

Also selected to the team was Houston receiver Andre Johnson (FSY) for the second time.

Repeaters from last year were Manning, Peterson, Andre Johnson, Hutchinson, Allen, Williams, Ware, Lewis and Lechler.

The New York Giants, Washington, Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, St. Louis, Miami, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Kansas City and Pittsburgh had no All-Pros this season.

Wes Welker being on the all-pro team bothers me. He's a very good player and would be an asset to any team. But if I had a vote, I'd vote for the physically gifted bigger receivers who could fit ANY scheme rather than a guy who serves a specific role, even though Welker does do that role really well.

I still think Welker is a top-10 WR, but all-pro seems to be a bit much. Give me V-Jax, Andre Johnson, or even his teammate, Randy Moss, over Welker. And for this specific season, it think you can make valid arguments for Sidney Rice and Miles Austin.

Patrick Willis is outstanding, but I have a friend who is a niners fan that tried to argue with me the other day that Willis has had 'twice' the career of Demarcus Ware. :laugh2:

I think Willis is the best ILB in the NFL, but an amazing pass rusher who happens to be amazing against the run too is always going to be more important to a defense's success than a great ILB. I think the niners leading sacker had 6.5 sacks this year, and that's a big part of why they went 8-8 and had a pretty bad defense.

Fit any scheme? All-pro is about performance not about what someone MIGHT do in a different situation.

The Pats and their playoff game showing would beg to differ.

Welker had a historic season in a shortened season.

I like Adrian Peterson, but I think either Ray Rice or Maurice Jones-Drew could have taken his spot. Not that you could go wrong with any of those three this season.

Yeah, but Welker only had the most catches, the second most yards and the most YAC of any WR.

Oh wait, I think I see your point.

As I said, I think Willis is the best ILB in football, but that position to me is never going to be as important as having a great pass rusher.

It depends how dominant that guy is, but I mostly agree...and I do take Ware > Willis.

Love to see Ratliff get the nod at nose tackle.

Makes up for not being a pro bowl starter. The people who actually watch the sport and know it gave him the credit he deserves.

I agree with this. In no way do I think Welker is one of the top 5 WRs in the NFL. I think he puts up great numbers b/c he's in a scheme which maximizes his opportunities and plays w/ a very accurate QB and also has the benefit of defenses rolling coverages towards the more dangerous WR on that offense (Moss). I have no doubt that if you consistently put Welker against the No. 1 CB of opposing offenses that he would not be putting up the same numbers. Unlike many other NFL wideouts, he doesn't have the size or the speed to present matchup problems, but in the slot his quickness vs other teams' nickel CBs is a matchup problem.

Thus, he may be the best slot WR in the NFL, but I thought All-Pro goes to the best WRs in the game, which I do not believe Welker is. Just my two cents.

Finally people recognize how great Ratliff is! People already know about D-Ware! Hopefully Spencer and Jenkins will join them eventually!

Great job, Rat. Not everyone can make All-Pro at a position they shouldn't even be playing. ;)
