Great job, Rat. Not everyone can make All-Pro at a position they shouldn't even be playing. ;)

You know... Ratliff should be playing DE.

Or so I'm told.

Yeah. If only we had a 350-lb fatbody in the middle, we could really go places.

Miles Austin made third-team All-Pro. Witten, Davis and Spencer are on the fourth team.

If Miles had had at least one full season under his belt prior to this year, he may have been 1st team this season. I just looked at his numbers and they would justify either 1st or second team b/c he has catches, yards, and TDs.

And some wanted to replace Spencer with Butler early in the year. If that had happened Butler would be at least 2nd team All-Pro.

How on earth are there 3 tight ends considered better than Jason Witten?

Miles was 15th in the NFL in receptions with 81.

He was 3rd in receiving yards(Andre Johnson had 1569, Wes Welker 1348, Miles 1320.

He was 4th in the NFL in TDs with 11(Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, and Vernon Davis(TE) each had 13) Roddy White and Visanthe Shiancoe(TE) also had 11

Miles had 8 40+ yard plays. Only Desean Jackson(10) and Andre Johnson(9) had more.

There is no reason to believe if Miles had started all year he wouldn't have been #1 in the league in every receiving category except catches(Welker had 123 out of the slot)

I have no doubt he'll be an all pro next year. It's pretty scary to think about the numbers he may put up next year, in his first full year as a starter.

Stats. Witten was 2nd only to Dallas Clark in receptions, and 3rd to Clark and Gates in yardage, but tied for 24th in TDs. Davis, Shiancoe, and Clark all had double digit TDs, and there were a few guys with 8 TDs.

Witten is probably never going to have as many TDs in a season as he used to, because we actually have weapons on the outside. Everybody still knows how great he is, but I'm sure the guys they chose at TE for this year's All Pro team deserved it too.

Welker should not have been there above Fitz, Miles, Reggie Wayne...

And MJD should over Steven Jackson

N Cushing hasnt been better than spencer

I'm not saying they didn't have good seasons...but none of them are even close to being the complete TE that Witten is. I'd give Davis a nod over him this season, maybe even Clarke, but Shiancoe? Give me a break.

I think they probably only take one TE on the All pro team, and Davis and Clark both had better seasons than he did this year statistically, and Shiancoe had the TDs so he will probably end up on some lists, even though we all know he's nothing special.

I agree if that's what All Pro meant....but All Pro is not a vote on who is the best player historically....it is who had the best season (or maybe even who was the best player that also had the best season) THIS year.
Witten was not as good as some of the others for the entire season...though he came on strong in the end. Does that we mean would take any of them over him for our team? Absolutley not. Does that mean they should be ahead of him this year for the Pro Bowl? yes

I'd say stats-wise, Gate, Clark, V Davis, and maybe Celek and Gonzalas all had better years. Jason only had 2 TDs this year--which is bad for any starting TE. He did have lots of yards and catches again though.

You're getting a little crazy there. Jackson had almost identical stats on the season as DeSean Jackson, 60 something catches, 1150 yards, 9 TDs. Miles Austin beat him in every category, in less games. Vincent Jackson is good, but best receiver in the league he is not.

Far from it!

Miles and Andre are.
