I really don't think he is that bad, he's just not a top 10 talent. He should have gone in the 4th round or later.

Actually I think he might be worse, at least Wright COULD do something.

We definitely don't need to trade for another receiver.

FS Michael Huff has turned his career around, but I'd only want to go after him if the price was still cheap. Huff has 7 passes defensed and 3 interceptions while starting 2 of 5 games this year.

FS Ken Hamlin, the "QB" of our defense, has 0 passes defensed and 0 interceptions in 5 starts this year. Hamlin was only credited with 2 passes defensed and 1 interception all of last season.

We're stuck with Ken this year, but getting another safety on the cheap would allow him to be ready to compete for time next year with rookie Mike Hamlin and players to be determined.

I think I remember reading that Huff's contract gets a bit ridiculous in terms of salary, so I'm not sure I'd consider trading for him "on the cheap".

That said, Hamlin's definitely been disappointing and I expect he'll be gone next season.

I'm sure whiny Greg Ellis will be complaining about being on the trading block.

Everyone wants a ticket out of Oakland. How to get it? For some, play well and hope some team wants you. For others, don't even try and hope the Raiders will just take anything in a trade for you.

And the idiot Raiders traded their first round pick which is looking like a top 3 pick for a guy who won't even be there next year.:lmao: :lmao2: :laugh2:

Trade for Russell and stick him at left tackle. He's probably up to 300 lbs by now.

That's true.

A lot of rookie contracts have ridiculous escalators in them for big money, but most are attached to significant playing time and/or individual stats.

I don't think it would be hard to renegotiate terms of the deal before trading for Michael Huff.

But I doubt we'd make such a move.

We'll dump Ken Hamlin in the off-season and let whoever's here fight for his spot.

The Oakland Raiders did not trade next year's first rounder for Richard Seymour. It was their 2011 first rounder that was dealt.

Various sources say that the only thing Russel LIKES to do is eat. A couple of the guys on the Sirius NFL channel joke that to get Russel practicing they should set up targets that look like sandwiches and when he hits one he gets to eat it.
So since being big an immobile is a plus for a NT then maybe that is the future for that particular $30 million bust.

Looking at the Browns roster how are they even considered a NFL Team

I know. And the lucky Steelers get to play them twice every year plus the usually hapless Bengals twice. This is just not fair. It basically gives them 4-5 bye weeks a year to get healthy.:bang2:

Darius Heyward Bey is a poor man's Troy Williamson.

Yes, I meant that.

I'd like to see Dallas make some kind of huge trade, just for the hell of it. It's always fun from my perspective to see things get shaken up. Just get some young players, don't give away your draft picks (I know how much we like doing that,) for someone in their mid thirties.

Browns won't be trading Joe Thomas

Posted by Mike Florio on October 18, 2009 9:07 AM ET

There has been a surprising amount of fan speculation that the Browns are willing to trade left tackle Joe Thomas.

Possibly sparked by the fan speculation, some league insiders have been to take the possibility seriously.

Per multiple league sources, it's highly unlikely to happen.

For starters, we're told that coach Eric Mangini "loves" Thomas (not in that way -- but that possibility would have made for a compelling episode of Playmakers . . . not that there's anything wrong with it).

More importantly, there's typically only one way to get a 10-year left tackle: through the first round of the draft. Few teams that have one will be willing to give him up -- especially when he's only in the third year of his contract.

That said, any player could be had for the right offer. To get Thomas, however, someone would have to absolutely blow the Browns away, possibly with a Herschel Walker-type package of picks and/or players.

If Thomas is as good as reported, I'd support a trade of our #1 for him, am I crazy?

They arnt going to trade him for a single #1 pick

I dont think he's worth anywhere near a Herschel type deal, but getting him for a sole 1st (likely to mid 1st or later) is a pipe dream.

I agree, that's why I said I'd do it. How much more would you throw in?
