All this talk about a DB in the 1st...

I'm starting to warm to Nelson/Merriweather in the 1st with someone like "Buster " Davis in the 2nd.

You know..that TD Henry gave up to the Commanders last year, lost that game for us.

Seeing...is believing.

Are you serious? At least he was in position to tip it and possibly disrupt the play. I guess Everson Walls was a bum cause he gave up that big play to the 9'ers & Dwight Clark?

Yea

because good CBs never give up a TD.

the more I become confused at just who I would take and how I would approach each and every position as well as each and every round...Do I want to go with a drafted solution to the safety problem, or do I just shift Anthony Henry to free safety and make up the difference in the secondary by using Aaron Glenn and Nathan Jones more, or add a Day One corner to the mix? Do I draft an outside linebacker, go with Carpenter and Ellis, or do I bring in a veteran for the outside and inside, as depth. There are quite a few solid players that could be taken in Day One, that would make sizeable contributions...so do I trade down twice, and accumulate two more Day One picks, and take five of these players in Day One....

Would I be content to end up with a Day One that added the following players?

Ben Grubbs OG
Michael Griffin FS
Paul Solali NT
Samson Satele C/OG

Then follow that up with a Day Two that acquired the following:

David Harris MLB Mi
Zak DeOssie DE/OLB Brown
Ryan McBean DE Ok St.
CJ Gaddis CB Clemson/Tarrel Brown CB Tx

I don't know about the quarterback prospect....

but a draft such as that would excite me....

Yes!!!! Florida is a melting pot of talent and speed. If Buster Davis wasn't 5'9 and 6'2, he would be a top 10 pick. He is a human missile and is built like a tree trunk..

Merriweather is simply a ball hawking saftey who will stick his nose in it, plays with passion and intensity, and is vocal leader.

And even though he is a DB, a vocal leader is what this team lacks. Too many tentative 'lead by example' on this team.

One of the questions that needs to be asked...

Q. Should Henry be paid more than Newman?

A. He already is.

The only reason he is paid more is that he has already had his Free Agent pay off. Newman's is coming and will be much bigger. When their playing days are both over Newman will have made significantly more money.

The truth doesn't hurt you know, but it does require open eyes and mind.
