All Time Cowboys Rankings (at each position)

yeh i dunno if it'd be too confusing to list Cornell at both positions.
that's like Rod Woodson or Aneas Williams, .... do they go down in HOF as CBs or safeties ?- which they both converted to at tail end of their careers.
and it's the 60's guys that are more difficult to evaluate as that was way before my time on Earth.
Thank goodness for YouTube help.
Yeah YouTube is a great way for young fans to connect with past Cowboys.
Regarding Cornell Green. All I’m saying is here’s a guy who made the Silver anniversary team. Yes he played Corner and Safety but he had great years doing both. But he’s way better at S than Michael Downs ever was. CG was the starting SS in both SB V and VI. Green was a stud for 13 years, never missing a game.

thanks ..
I tend to lean more towards players i've seen play and players that have such accolades, reputation, resume credentials, and historical impact notes - ala Bullet Bob Hayes, Bob Lilly
and Rayfield Wright that 60's or not, how could they be left out ...
Agree

not sure how you have 10 receivers and no Tony Hill

In my book, Tony Hill was not quite in the top 5 overall, and unfortunately Tony Hill was not a slot WR.

Now If i were to place an " Honorable Mentioned " - then Thrill Hill would've definitely made that particular list.

pretty darn good lists. you've clearly watch them for a long time and I appreciate that.

- I had to determine if Cornell was a better player at cornerback, than at the tail end of his career when he was converted to safety. In the 60's i would have no idea.
- DD Lewis was a starter but was he ever a pro bowler like Coakley was ? Ditto with Gurode vs Rafferty.

Raferty was better and DD Lewis was also better. I mean, Coakley might not even be better then Dat. I'd have to say that I'd also consider Bob Breunig. I think Ken Norton would be on this list but he left a little too soon.

made multiple pro bowls/all-pros at both CB and S.

Awsome list! I would probably move Danny up right behind Troy based on team success but could absolutley make a case for how you have them.

In what world is Jason Garrett above Switzer?

I recognize that Switzer had incredible talent. But he still won a super bowl and went to an NFC title game in another season. More than garret ever accomplished.
Lol, Switzer was handed a Ferrari and told to just keep it between the lines.

Good list.

Crayton was a better slot guy than the Bease.

And just as a talent standpoint, Murray was better than Zeke. Zeke is more durable, but watch some of Murrays runs. He had better moves, set up defenders to miss and just carried guys for extra yards. Zeke gets tackled by the first guy that grabs him.

Lockhart belongs on that middle linebacker list!

Danny White over Dak - how can you rank someone over a QB who got his team to several NFC championship games? He should be in front of Romo as well.

His team got to the NFC championship games. He just happened to be the quarterback. A decent one, but not good enough to give Dallas the lift it needed from the position to return to glory.

Quarterbacks get too much credit and too much blame for wins and losses.

Danny White. The guy Tom Landry said doesn’t have a cool bone it is entire body . The guy with the best supporting cast in the entire league. A norings. You just shoot your intelligence of the game
Speaking of intelligence, clean up your English. It is gibberish!

Zeke better than Walker? Thats laughable. Murray was better also.

Pearson in front of Owens and Dez? More laughable.

I mostly agree with the list, though I would take Fredbeard over Stepnoski.

I also would remove Switzer...I'd take Parcells over him lol

All Time Cowboys Rankings (at each position)
I assume that's ranking *as* Cowboys, or TO is WR#1.

Flozell ahead of Tuinei at T.
Allen should be put ahead of both. He made AP1 in his only year at LT.
Would be interesting to compare Allen's LT year with Tyron's best. I don't know how that comes out.
Tyron above Williams.

Tackles
Wright
Tyron
Allen
EWilliams
Flozell
