facts are not excuses buddy.. you just don’t like the facts.. excuses are McCarthy played “conservative” in the second half, as if pouring it on against bad teams has never been this teams MO.. suddenly they’ve changed their “tune”, even though they were kicking 60 plus yard FGs once again..

We beat a playoff team
With the best defense in the league last year that likes to run the ball
We beat them on the road in their house
And we beat them on a grass field

Reminder: they didn’t have their Star RB today for starters.

B) defense likely lost a step. Just because they were the top defense last season doesn’t mean they are this season. It means nothing.

Was it really the same team as last year? It was a nice win, but to judge either team on who they are based on the first game of the season...

But, but, but Dak didn't pass for 2000 yards, and the RB's are too fat, and we'll never win another game without Ferguson.......
It's reasonable to celebrate the win, while acknowledging the flaws. This is a promising looking team, but the lack of success in the run game is a concern. Playing against a great defense will skew the numbers, sure, but the offense was really underwhelming in the second half. Thankfully the defense and special teams came out hot and we saw a great team win.

Please inform we where the best defense in the league comes from? You know they were 13th in scoring defense, we were 5th.

The only thing they were number 1 in was passing yards and they were 17th in TDs given up.. statistically we were a better run defense.

They lost their OL coach in Bill Callahan, their OL was injured, they had a new OC in Ken Dorsey who was fired mid/season last year with the Bills…
So what?

They lost Bill Callahan, they have a new OC in Ken Dorsey who was fired mid-season last year, they had multiple injuries on OL…. Watson is playing his first game off of shoulder surgery..

So sad….just so sad….

It’s only 1 game so it’s still early. Only in Cleveland could you get rid of Mayfield who ends up better than Watson who you guaranteed $240 mil.

He is stating the reasons the Defense Dominated. Not which team had a disadvantage

It was a beautiful win for the defense but an accurate assessment of who they are can not be judged
he was responding to a post about their defense. so either way.
