Am I crazy? (regarding Felix Jones)

Felix Jones is elite. In spots. You misspoke in the other forum when you told them no Cowboys fan would say Choice was better than Jones. I'm a Cowboys fan, I've seen all the games, and I think Choice is a better all round running back than Jones, who can be amazing in spots but has never demonstrated an ability to carry a full load for a full game. Choice has - in the NFL.

Jones, like Barber, never was the principle running back for his college team. Each of them were excellent backs but playing second fiddle. Choice started out that way as a backup to Peterson, but left to go to Georgia Tech where he carried that team.

I think all three of them are fine backs, but Choice can be counted on to lift the load. Barber couldn't do it last year, and I doubt Jones could this year.

A quick-strike back is very valuable for certain situations. So is a finisher back like Barber. But Choice seems to me to be the only full-time back the Cowboys have.

:)

He's a back that a team picks up every 20 years.

I agree.

Plus, I'll add this:

Felix Jones is the best running back in the division, and you can print that in big, bold, black letters.

I don't think that I'd go as far as to say that Felix is the best runner in the NFL. However, I would argue that he's the biggest threat to score on any given play.

Choice is a good man and teammate, is skilled and should always have a spot on this team...But if you think Choice is a better RB than Jones you are high!!!

Choice is a better overall runner.
Felix is explosive, no doubt. However, I wouldn't send him down the middle very often.
Choice has great vision, finds the holes, is quick on the cuts, and is tough enough to take the hits time after time. He's not ridiculously fast, or ridiculously strong and tough, but he's a great mix of the two.

He would have been drafted higher had Peterson not gone to OU.
I like me some Felix, but he's a RB you use on 3rd down and every once in a while for the rest of the game.

Either way, it's a good problem to have. I think Barber will have over 1000 yds again, Felix somewhere 600-1000 and Choice around 400-800 if Garrett uses the offense like it should.

Especially with 2TE sets, running plays there would be sick. Bennett and Witten will force LBs to be ready for both the run and the short to medium pass.

When did Barber ever have over 1000 yards?

I think he's talking about total yards

I don't think he was. I'm pretty sure he meant rushing yards since the post was pretty much themed around running ability and the running game.

Folks that have seen all 3 backs run all throughout training camp seem to be giving a lot of "oohs and ahhs" about Felix Jones.

There's a reason why many training camp observers are excited about this kid.

I think Barber is a good back and Choice is a good back-- but if you're looking for special-- then it's FJ.

He was 25 yds short in 2007, that's like 1 quarter's worth of yardage.
Negligible difference in my book.
