I'm talking about one team-- The Cowboys. He's the best back that the Cowboys have drafted since Emmitt, which was what? Almost 20 years ago?

I'm not saying that Felix Jones is a 1 in 20 year back for the entire NFL.

Ah, ok.

Dang it, I was hoping he was better than Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, etc. ;)

I guess I don't understand the question.

Both Tiki and Westbrook are/were very, very good.

Arguably the best backs either one of those teams have had in many years.

And yeah, I think Felix Jones will be better than both of them.

You didn't say one team. That, I might be able to agree with. He still needs time to prove he can be that back. Talent wise, I think it's clear he has something special. He has to stay health though.

As for better than both. I don't know, maybe Tiki, but I'm not willing to say he will be better than Westbook with only 30 carries under his belt. Westbrook was a big time receiving threat. All we know about Jones and receiving is what Wade tells us, and we all know you have to take what Wade says about players with a grain of salt. How great would Carpenter be if what Wade said was true?

Remember, Jones seems to have issues judging balls in the air. He has trouble catching balls thrown from a distance and he has issues catching punts and kickoffs. Maybe he just needs glasses! :laugh2:

So is it fair to say if Dallas could only keep one of the current RB's Felix would be gone if it were up to you?
No, not at all.
I would probably trade Choice or Barber.
But we're talking on the best RB, not most explosive offensive player.

The first 4 games in Tony Dorsett's career...

4 carries 11 yards
7 carries 62 yards
10 carries 72 yards
14 carries 141 yards against St. Louis.

That's a total of 35 carries for 286 yards and 4 rushing TD's.

That's 8.17 yards per carry.

It was after the St. Louis game when many folks questioned Landry's sanity in not giving the guy more carries.

Felix had 30 carries for 266 yards and 3 rushing TD's. Plus of course that one on the kickoff return.

8.86 ypc is sick... Even for just 30 carries.

1 TD per 10 carries is pretty spectacular too.

Does he need to stay healthy?

You bet.

But the pecking order should be:

Felix Jones
Barber
Choice

And if Choice gets any carries they should come out of Barber's pocket-- not Felix Jones.

I agree with the bolded part, but Barber has a much deeper pocket than Jones, it seems.

I think Barber will probably start because he was given an outlandish contract, but I expect he will be pulled early to wait for the 'finishing' times when he can be most effective. Choice, I expect, will take over the everyday running back chores and Jones will be used intermittently until the 'finisher' takes over again.

I would change your pecking order (in the sense of playing order) to:

Barber
Choice
Jones
Barber

:)
