Am I the only one here who hates coffee?

No you are not the only one. Hate it. In the 20+ years the wife and I have been together we have never had a coffee maker.

I haven't had coffee in 20 years. Just was never a fan. Drank coke for a while but have given that up too. I'm naturally a morning person I guess.

Strange old world...you haven't had a coffee maker in 20 yrs and l can't get up in the morning without a caffeine hit.;).

I usually drink Diet Mountain Dew for my Caffeine. Get one for work every morning.

I've never had a problem with the taste or smell of coffee and cigarettes but I never understood what the appeal is for either one. My lifetime experience for both has been three sips of coffee and puffing on three cigarettes--never finishing a single one.

I'm the opposite. The only drink I can't stand is tea. Even drinking hard liquor straight up tastes better to me than tea.

When I was a kid, I also couldn't stand the taste of milk. Went over 20 years without drinking any.

No your not. I hate the smell of it especially hazelnut. It makes me quiet nauseating. As I told one of my colleague when she came in and sat down next to me with her hazelnut brew for a meeting, "You are going to finish that?" pointing to the coffee. "Because if you don't I am going to throw up on you." She looked stunned, but another colleague told her he really means it.
Weird, I like the smell more than the taste. I usually only like it when it's cold outside, otherwise give me a dr pepper

I like coffee

and it's infinitely better for you than soft drinks or energy drinks....especially if you don't drink 10 cups a day.
:oldcouple:

Hate coffee although bizarrely I like espresso and Arabic/Turkish coffee which is basically a really strong espresso with the consistency of road tar.
Didn't think I liked tea for years until I discovered it's great without milk.
Trying to cut back on the Irn Bru (Scotlands other national drink) which I doubt you'll have heard of given you're not allowed to import it, for years Scotland was the only country Coca-Cola wasn't the best selling soft drink.
Rounding off the drinks mentioned I may have had a touch more than my fair share of beers over the years o_O

It's probably been 20 years since I went without a cup of Joe in the morning. Fresh grind my beans and use a French press every day. I get it though, my wife only hits the Diet Coke in the morning and I've got several friends that do the Dew. I've got a 16 year old son who is not a health nut, but absolutely won't drink a thing but H2O.

All my life I've always hated coffee. It tastes like mud to me. My brother hates it too. I think maybe I can taste a chemical in it that other people can't. You know that science experiment in high school where you put a little square piece of paper on your tongue and some people only taste paper, but others taste something bitter? I tasted the bitter so bad I nearly gagged. For me coffee has this awful, awful taste that I can't stand. It's the same thing with coffee ice cream of chocolates with coffee in it. I cannot have any of that without being totally grossed out.

No worries for any coffee drinkers out there. I'm not out to convert anyone. I just have a hypothesis that there's something in coffee that only some people can taste. It would make sense that my brother has the same reversion to coffee, as he's related to me and maybe has the same gene in his DNA that lets him taste whatever I'm tasting.

So I drink black tea or green tea instead.
I rarely drink coffee, it makes me anxious and on edge, if I do drink it there is usually booze in it, but I was recently reminded how much that hurts when you wake up...I'm a big fan of green tea though, very mild but tasty, I'll have to try some black tea. I find tea so much tastier than coffee.

I actually have a coffee maker. I'm never made a single pot of coffee with it. I use it to make tea.

I drink coffee almost every day. Black and strong. And I drink it because I like the flavor. Strangely enough, caffeine has no affect on me. I feel just the same whether I drink no coffee, or an entire pot. Or I can drink caffeinated drinks right before bed, and have no trouble falling asleep.

My wife is just the opposite. She's hyper-sensitive to caffeine. And if she doesn't drink a cup of coffee or a diet Mt. Dew for awhile, she gets a headache. To me, that's really strange. I drink ten times the amount of coffee that she does (at least a pot or more a day) yet if I don't drink any for a couple days, it doesn't bother me in the least.

I don't like coffee either so you're definitely not the only one.

No, I can't stand coffee either.

I like the smell of fresh brewed coffee, but don't like the taste at all.

Black coffee certainly doesn't work for me and tobacco is so disgusting. WHY...Booze, l can understand...but sucking absolute poison into your lungs...l never understood that. I am not criticizing anyone..but GD..,Tobacco really stinks and is so harmful.

Back in 1986 I used to drink 2 or 3 large cups of coffee in the morning just to get me going. I was stationed in England and two guys at night would always clean the big 40-cup coffee urn and in the morning two guys in the morning would make the coffee. For months it was the same two guys who would clean the urn at night, and in the morning two different guys would make it. One day, the two guys at night were not at work for some reason, and the next day the two guy who made the coffee weren't at work either. So the coffee sat from around noon one day until around 7 the next day. Anyway, I drink my first large cup of coffee and noticed the taste was rancid, but I drank it anyway. The next cup I tried drinking it and I got nauseated by the taste. I thought I was going to vomit.

Fast forward 26 years and I didn't let a drop of coffee touch my lips because just the thought of drinking coffee made me ill because I remembered the horrible taste of the coffee I had in England. Thing was, I LOVED the smell of coffee and my wife was a heavy coffee drinker so the aroma was always in the house, but just the thought of drinking it made me ill. Well, a couple of years ago I was in D.C. and the hotel was brewing a fresh pot and the smell was so good. I decided I would try a cup. It was delicious. I now drink a cup a day and I enjoy it. If I try to drink more than that I get the feeling of nausea again.

Cool story bro...
