Am I the only one not enamored with Dwayne Harris?

I would hope we're still keeping our options open for third receiver. I'm not sure why everyone came away impressed with Dwayne Harris as if the 3rd receiver job was his. I think it was more about replacing Ogletree, and he was impressive in the return game.

I'd like us to look at Ryan Swope in the 3rd round depending on how things shake out in the 1st and 2nd.

I'd also like to see what we could do with Laurent Robinson if he comes back to play this year.

I also still have pretty high hopes for Danny Coale and Cole Beasley. And when I consider them, I'm a bit more reluctant to suggest going after another receiver.

That being said I think Ryan Swope would be better than all four of them.

Not a chance I would consider Beasley over Harris ever. Harris has that no quit attitude where I question Beasley heart and his size is still a question mark. If Beasley is somehow someway starting over Harris there is something seriously wrong with JG and the FO

All Harris did was deliver when he got his reps. He deserves the shot to keep it up.

But you don't pass over a better player because you have Dwayne Harris on your roster. If you think you can improve the position group, especially with an outside speed guy, you do it.

I like Harris and his potential, but if Miles or Dez go down, I am not so sure he can replace one of them. I think he is what he is, a 3rd WR that can be valuable, especially returning punts and/or kicks.

He may blossom to be a dominant WR, but in a perfect world, I would like Miles to play the slot (only if he stays healthy and keeps his mind on the game) and find a big outside receiver to play opposite Dez. I still like Miles over Harris for the slot but that confidence is diminishing every year.

I like Harris but I wouldn't pass on Swope because of him. By the way, do you think that Swope will last until the 3rd? Just asking.

I love Harris as a player. Probably not a great starting WR if we had an injury there but as a 3 or 4, I love what he brings to the table.
With that said, I'm not against drafting a WR in one of the earlier rounds to add depth.

I am not enamored with him, but I do think he deserves an opportunity to play based a bigger role based on what he did at the end of last season.

Tavonmania

It is no secret that the Cowboys are intersted in drafting a WR. That does not mean it is tavon mania.

When the cowboys bring in multiple WRs as draft prospects, and one of them is not Tavon, this is not a question of Tavonmania.

I am fine with Harris but the Boyz will be grabbing a WR. You can bet on it. Most likely in the top 4 rounds I would imagine.

Here is what I liked about Harris last year

a) took advantage of opportunities

b) caught the ball..didn't see a ton of drops

c) didn't see a lot of mental lapses

d) was used as a guy we could move around throw quick hitches to and let him run

e) toughness and enthusiasm

Maybe I was just looking for slivers of goodness from the team last year but I thought he showed a lot. THAT being said, I'd still upgrade if there is a guy who is there that you think improves our options.

I like Harris a lot. Very strong lower body. I think in this offense, the slot receiver's primary responsibilities are to find holes in the zone and then break tackles and get YAC. It's a problem we had last year...Witten was our Y-Receiver and while he's great at finding holes in the zone, he's not going to get much YAC. He's better off running more intermediate routes.

The other key is being able to flat out being opposing teams #3 CB. I think Harris can do that. Combine that with his PR skills, he's looking like a prototypical #3 WR.

I like Beasley as well. But, I think he's going to be more like Ricky Proehl was with the Rams. The #4 WR.

Personally, I think you want to find some personnel groupings that you are really good at using and use them often. From there, if you can expand that personnel groupings that you can use effectively, the better.

I think as far as WR goes, we probably need to look for a replacement for Austin because I don't see him with the team after this season at this rate.

Harris what he is. Potential to be a good slot receiver. Overmatched on the outside.

He's not all world but he is a playmaker.. You can't take that away from the guy but yeah we can upgrade a few spots no doubt....

I like Harris he really did not see any playing time as a 3rd WR until week 11 and when he got his chance he showed himself as a dependable WR add to that his ability as a returnman. I think Harris is the ideal 3rd WR

One of the reasons why I don't like our coaching staff is because he barely got a chance to play even though he was clearly better than Ogletree.

I think Swope will be a late 3rd or early 4th.
