Am I wrong for wanting to see more Turbin?

Why would you be wrong? There's nothing at stake in these games. I'd like to see what he and a few other players have.

Looks to me like Mc Fadden might be wearing down. I would like to see a little more Turbin who seems to be running straight forward and with some passion.

I'm with you. I didn't want to say it out loud.

Not much the OL can do when the defense knows what's coming and is using 11 guys to stop it.
The ESPN guys made a big deal of the fact that Dallas is the "worst in the league" on 3rd and 1, and blamed the OL. What they didn't say is that they were looking at both runs and passes. Dallas has converted 58% of its runs on 3rd and 1 and only 20% of its passes.

The ESPN stat also ignores 3rd and 2, when the Cowboys have converted on 5 of 6 runs, and all 4th downs, when Dallas has converted on 4 of 5 runs. It also completely leaves out goal line runs on any down, where Dallas is 5 of 8. That ranks 3rd in the NFL among teams with that many attempts.

Our short-yardage running is more successful so far this year than it was last year, while our conversion rate on short-yardage passing has dropped more than 30 percentage points from last year.

Cowboys in Short Yardage
(3rd or 4th down and 1-2 yards to go)
RUNS
2015 15 of 21 71.4%
2014 22 of 31 71.0%

PASSES
2015 5 of 12 41.7%
2014 13 of 18 72.2%

Short Yardage, 2015
without Romo
run 13 of 19 68.4%
pass 2 of 6 33.3%

with Romo
run 2 of 2 100%
pass 3 of 6 50%

Our run/pass ratio of 19/6 on short-yardage plays without Romo in 2015 would lead the league by a large margin if it were for an entire season. That means defenses know exactly what's coming.

I'd love to see us draft a top 5 Back but also hold on to Turbin as a short yardage, goal-line back. I think he would do very well in that role.

Considering he has ZERO rushing TDs in 4 years, I don't see it.

I straight up like Turbin better than McFadden. McFadden won me over by virtue of the fact that he's a good guy who runs hard and didn't fumble and is ok in pass-pro. But I'm second-guessing that no-fumbling part.

Turbin fits this offense better than McFadden in my opinion. I think McFadden is better off being our change of pace.

Yes, we need more Turbin.

Split the load.

but on topic 2 words, "starter mentality" once a guy is made starter they stick with him until he cant play due to injury.
If they can walk they play, and forget about the younger healthier guys just dying to make a play, they will stay on the bench!

McF was concussed in this last game and somehow he was allowed back in the game, I wonder about that.

Mmm. I bet you didn't see us 4-8 at this time last year either.. but it doesn't mean he can't be productive as a short yardage Back.
