Amari Expendable

The Chiefs doubled Lamb and effectively neutralized him. You can’t do that when Amari is on the field.

They would not have been able to double him without Coop if they had kept Lamb in the slot. I mean I know you can still double the slot receiver but's a LOT tougher to do. Putting him outside made him waaaay easier to double. And nobody else stepped up and consistently won against single coverage.. and when they did.. they dropped the damn ball (looking at you Noah Brown and your 2 targets with 2 drops..) Once Lamb went down they could then double Gallup and that was a wrap.. Schultz was the only one getting open and you aint winnin games with Schultz as your leading receiver.

Amari was missed yesterday, but would have it made a difference? Dont know.

I thought Gallup was fine yesterday all things considered. I know he caught one ball that was short 2-3 yds of the FD and he plowed his way through to move the chains. And the overthrow on the first play was an EXCELLENT route (Amari footwork). I don't remembering him dropping balls.

I think people appreciate him it was the whole fans trying to be GM.....they want to create cap space. So in their mind they get rid of Cooper and they can re-sign Gallup and Wilson.
There you go.

I was exactly there, but I came full circle on the situation long before yesterday. He is nowhere near the gutless player I had originally thought, and consider it a great thing that he doesn't carry the baggage that some others at the WR position have over the years.

85 and 1 had awful, awful games yesterday but of course that blame falls to Prescott.

I don't think the Chiefs would have loaded up front like they did if Cooper and Lamb were both there. Changed the whole gameplan for both teams.

How is the Amari being expendable, because Gallup is legit argument working out now?

It's always been a stupid argument. Too many under appreciate how good Coop is.

The answer is that Gallup was never going to be a viable replacement for Cooper. I like Gallup. But the reality is this talk of signing him this offseason and tossing Cooper out was pretty silly.
Maybe you're right. But in my opinion, we won't know until that time comes. A lot can happen. And my point was that Gallup just got back, so assuming anything is also pretty silly. And to be fair, we saw what it's like without Cooper. It exposed how much a drop off there is at the # 4 and 5 WRs. I would like to see Gallup in a couple more games before he's written off as a #1.
I was pretty high on Wilson, but that has changed.

Looks like Lamb will be ruled out. Lets see how well the rest of the WR corp does this Thursday. There will be no excuses.

I thought that was what they were going to do. Coop went down Friday night, why not just stick with where everyone was practicing all week? So we get cute on OLine, and start a new guy when we lose our OT again. Then we get cute with the receivers. Use some common sense Coaches!

Lamb has not shown he is a #1 when given the chance either. He feasts when the unit is clicking and he can take advantage.

Yeah I'd like to think if Amari misses we will be ok..not sure if yesterday is proof that we aren't or if it was just a bad game by everyone overall. But that was not encouraging at all and that may be our same receiving group this Thursday.

Lamb is a weird case.....he has everything you'd want I just don't understand why in moments it seems like he disappears.

good news is he is young & may still grow into it.

being a #1 is tough. you face every D imaginable and have to be able to beat it. takes patience on top of a ton of talent, dedication & discipline. patience is tough for a young buck.

The football genius around here that are quick to tell everyone "they don't know football" if you say Cooper is the reason the other receivers looks so good are looking very foolish today.

it's wild how w/ out coop, ceedee was just essentially doubled at all times. wonder why? lol

This is operative word.. Lamb is still growing.. his body is still filling out. He was 185 last year and is closer to 195 this year.. I think he puts on another 10 pounds this offseason and that's when he will really take off. Right now he's not strong enough to beat the press if the refs let DBs manhandle him like they did yesterday. He's also not savvy enough to beat double teams the way Coop does. He's a work in progress. I'm not worried about him..
