I just got a chance to listen to this... Oh man, that's hilarious.

I didn't get what he meant when he said, "This isn't Detroit, this is the Super Bowl."

Favre's last play in his last two NFC Championship games have been INT's in OT.
he also had that OT interception against Philly in the divisional round of the 2003 playoffs

I think he lost his mind momentarily but he was trying to say the Vikings weren't the Lions and saying they were playing for a Superbowl.

My guess is he meant that you could make throws like that in a game against the Detroit Lions - gunslinging/improvisational type football. This was a play that could have determined a shot at the Super Bowl so long as the ball wasn't turned over - you can't make that mistake at this point in the game.

the best part was the end. i would have loved to hear the rest of that rant.

hilarious.

Amen.

One of the guys I was shooting the breeze with last night at the bar is a Favrerere slop fest participant of the highest order. His parting shot to me was that Favre's the best there ever was and I was going to have to eat my hatred for him when he wins the Super Bowl.

I told him watch and wait, when the game is on the line he'll throw the dumbest interception and cost them the game.

He came in tonight too. I just said howdy Doc, and smiled. His red face was like digging in your pocket and finding lost money to me.

I got my wish in this game. The Vikings outplayed the Saints, but they still lost. Favre got the ever living crap beat out of him along with a loss that ended up being on his head.

You see his post game interview? He look like he just came from a boxing match.

Here is to you Brad Childress and Brett Favre. You deserved it!

That's a quality call. I feel for that guy making the call cause you can tell he's pissed.

As for all the Favre bashing...LOL. It's always hilarious to me when folks point out his pick here or there and act like it's all he's ever done in the playoffs.

He also advanced to 2 Superbowls. He's taken his teams to 3 other NFC Championship games.

He's helped win numerous playoff games during his time. I guess everyone forgot that the week before he threw 4 TDs without a pick to help put them in the NFC Championship game in the first place.

Or the 2007 season when the Giants won its hilarious how conviently everyone forgets that he played pretty darn well the prior week to put them in that game in the first place.

He's had bad playoff games, bad plays, all of that. It's not like there is a great QB out there who hasn't. I'm fairly sure that Bradshaw, Montana, Brady, Manning, Young, Marino, Kelly, Elways, etc all have, or had, bad playoff games during their great careers.

I mean even our own Troy Aikman threw up a real stinker in an NFC Championship game. Everyone remembers how the team fought, clawed, and tried to win it. And they should cause it was awesome to see that. But lets not forget that the great Troy Aikman also threw 3 INTS that day including two HUGE ones in the redzone that cost us scores.

So, please, lets not act like bad plays or decisions are unique to Favre or something and act like he's Danny White or some other solid QB who couldn't do anything in playoff games and championship play.

Say what you want. Favre has single handedly destroyed his team in big games more often than any "great" QB in history by a long shot.

I liken Favre to Fire. He can keep you alive on a frosty cold night when you would normally freeze to death, but he can and WILL burn you to death just as quickly.

He is a gunslinger. While I am a HUGE Romo fan, I can't tell you how afraid I was of him being a carbon copy of Favre. I also can't tell you how excited I am to see the change in Romo we saw this year. It gives me great hope that not only can Romo win "A" Superbowl like Favre, but he has a great chance at winning several. Something an incredible talented QB like Favre easily should have accomplished but didn't because of his pure gunslinger attitude.

Maybe so. But I'd certainly take some of that playoff success he's had during his career around here. The 1 playoff game was nice this year, and I'm thrilled we finally got it, but now it's time for more.

I do think Romo's changes will make him better, for sure, and Favre's gunslinger attitude does cost you but the thing is it's simply stupid for people to sit around here acting like thats all he's ever done is suck in big/important games, and that he's some how this terrible QB.

I had been flying my Cowboys flag all week prior to the Minnesota game, and my Cowboys banner also, plus my car and truck have the large magnetic decals prominently displayed.

At the conclusion of the Cowboys loss to Minnesota, I removed everything from view, and relaxed to watch the next game.

The next morning, one of my Minnesota friends stuck a small Minnesota Viking flag in my yard, so I knew I would be hearing from the Viking fans all week, which I did. But, the small flag stayed in the yard.

After the Saints victory over the Vikes, I attached an index card to the flag, upon which I had printed "Flag For Sale."

Yesterday, one of the Viking fans asked , "how much for the flag?" I responded, "35 cents."

Revenge is sweet!

He has sucked a lot in big games. He only won one Superbowl and easily could have won several. Look back, he himself lost several of those chances. Favre notoriously throws INTs in bunches. Those INTs cost him games. He usually throws no INTs or 3+ INTs. He only threw 2 against the Saints, but if you watch that game again, he damn near through at least 4. That finally INT was a typical Favre play in a big game. He tries to force it.

The man is one of the greatest QBs in NFL history and I love his magic. He has made some unbelievable plays. He is a first ballot HoFer and he would have my vote if I voted.

Agreed.

But the point is he has won and he's won big games in his career. I just dont get where some folks act like all he's ever done is suck in big games or something. That 1 ring he's got...Ask Dan Marino and Jim Kelly if they wouldnt just love to have won "only one Superbowl".

Nailed it solid on this post.

Several in this thread (and others) talk about Karma and revenge. This might be the stupidest thread I have seen here yet and that says a lot. Some here act like it is some sort of consolation prize for the cowboys. That is sad, sad, sad.

To speak to Karma, all the glee here over a team that beat you 34-3 does not bode well for the future; but sure I am sure you all believe the better team lost in the divisional round and that you would have rolled the Saints.

Favre has had one heck of an accomplished career. Love him or hate him, he is better than any QB the cowboys have had save Staubach. Aikman was a great QB, but had great players around him. Favre has done a great deal on his own. The 90s cowboys teams made Aikman look good. Favre has made bad teams look good.
