That's a quality call. I feel for that guy making the call cause you can tell he's pissed.

As for all the Favre bashing...LOL. It's always hilarious to me when folks point out his pick here or there and act like it's all he's ever done in the playoffs.

He also advanced to 2 Superbowls. He's taken his teams to 3 other NFC Championship games.

He's helped win numerous playoff games during his time. I guess everyone forgot that the week before he threw 4 TDs without a pick to help put them in the NFC Championship game in the first place.

Or the 2007 season when the Giants won its hilarious how conviently everyone forgets that he played pretty darn well the prior week to put them in that game in the first place.

He's had bad playoff games, bad plays, all of that. It's not like there is a great QB out there who hasn't. I'm fairly sure that Bradshaw, Montana, Brady, Manning, Young, Marino, Kelly, Elways, etc all have, or had, bad playoff games during their great careers.

I mean even our own Troy Aikman threw up a real stinker in an NFC Championship game. Everyone remembers how the team fought, clawed, and tried to win it. And they should cause it was awesome to see that. But lets not forget that the great Troy Aikman also threw 3 INTS that day including two HUGE ones in the redzone that cost us scores.

So, please, lets not act like bad plays or decisions are unique to Favre or something and act like he's Danny White or some other solid QB who couldn't do anything in playoff games and championship play.

please - favre brings the "hate" upon himself by constantly putting himself before everyone else. if that bothers you - sorry. tell favre to cut it out.

i don't give a damn he retired. i know better. he'll call a press conference a week to tell people he doesn't know what he wants to do but as soon as he does he'll let you know.

HUH? last time i heard, press conferences were for news, not personal hype and keeping your name out there.

he retires, it would seem, to NOT have to go to training camp. we can argue all day long over whether or not he should, i honestly don't care. but SHUT UP about all this "oh, i don't know...i'll see how i feel...my daughter says i should..."

you want to know when he'll make up his mind? WHEN CAMP IS OVER.

i totally agree that romo makes that INT he sucks and will never be a contender. while romo doesn't have the skins on the wall, you have a point. however, favre now hides behind those skins.

rest assured, the man threw some phenominal passes in the playoffs. 50 yards down the field and he may as well be handing it to the WR. only a fool would say the man can't play the game and is arguably the best player to play in my lifetime.

but the media slobberfest they give him i simply can't stand. i cant stand his ME ME ME outlook and i can't stand him holding everyone hostage for the last 2-3 years waiting on his every breathe about what he'll do.

i don't give a deads rats *** that's been left baking out in the desert sun for 8 days straight with only vulture urine to keep it moist - get off my tv already.

when you retire more than KISS you've got issues.

Why do you even care? Turn it off. It isn't like the media doesn't give the cowboys their undue and unearned share of love.

Bottom line is that Favre is one of the best..... ever.

didn't i say that too?

i'm sick and tired of mr walks on water on the news all the time, ok? i do change it. during training camp i need 4 remotes cause i go through them having to change the tv all the time.

if he were to have won the game i'd not watch network tv or any sports channel til the superbowl was over. all the favre love that would be in the air could make me hurl in imaginative ways i've not done since college and for far less good reasons.

i don't care what the media does for or to the cowboys. i don't care what they do for the cards, the saints, the giants...i do not care.

but none of that changes the fact i've come to hate favre more than the white hot passion of a thousand dying suns all fading in unison that will forever make astronomers gaze at it's beauty.

why do you care if i hate him? quit reading.

Not sure exactly what is wrong with you, but I am sure it must be very hard to pronounce.

Nailed it solid on this post.

Several in this thread (and others) talk about Karma and revenge. This might be the stupidest thread I have seen here yet and that says a lot. Some here act like it is some sort of consolation prize for the cowboys. That is sad, sad, sad.

To speak to Karma, all the glee here over a team that beat you 34-3 does not bode well for the future; but sure I am sure you all believe the better team lost in the divisional round and that you would have rolled the Saints.

Favre has had one heck of an accomplished career. Love him or hate him, he is better than any QB the cowboys have had save Staubach. Aikman was a great QB, but had great players around him. Favre has done a great deal on his own. The 90s cowboys teams made Aikman look good. Favre has made bad teams look good.
Holy head stuck in the ground. Reggie White rolled over in his grave.

I am a Favre fan. Probably the biggest on this forum, but that comment is ridiculous. Favre played for some great Packers teams and this Vikings team was damn near awesome.

Players on the 90's Cowboys would disagree with you about them making Aikman look good. So would I.

Utterly stupid nonsense just spews out of you every time fingers touch keys.

Same Vikings team that was pretty bad with all the same pieces except for Favre under center..... yeah..... that is right.... Favre made it click and thus made it awesome.

About the cowboys and the 90s.... we will just have to disagree. I am not taking anything away from Aikman, but he was no Favre. Aikman's supporting cast is probably the best ever assembled in the modern era of pro football.

I never said he was a Favre. But your idea that the team made him and he was along for the ride is cobwebs in the brain.

You take Aikman off the early 1990's Cowboys and insert Steve Walsh and we don't win any Super Bowls. Don't believe me, by all means find a player from that era and ask them. You might learn something.

You are nuts. Aikman was the anti-Favre. Both have golden arms. The difference was Aikman didn't single-handedly lose games for the Cowboys. Favre did consistently.

Favre has far better numbers, but thats because he didn't have Emmitt Smith. Not only that, he probably wouldn't have allowed Emmitt to become the all-time leading rusher cause of his playing attitude.

If I had a choice of Troy Aikman and Brett Favre, I take Troy everytime. He can not only win me games, but he won't lose them for me either.

this would seem to say that you feel favre is the only reason the vikings were a better team this year.

guffaw.

so fine - if he made it click and we must have it your way he also bonered the hoochiekoo on the stupid INT. no one else on the team did it, did they? i really don't care if you love favre or not and will put up any excuse necessary to make him feel better. there's a chance that the last pass he ever threw in the NFL was a stupid decision that cost the TEAM a shot at the superbowl. that makes me very happy.

you can't honor and forgive him all at once.

well, unless you're in the media.

great analogy because yes, they are very different in styles. period. favre was the improv genius and aikman was the meticulous perfectionist. both have made it work well in their careers, no doubt.

when people have a need to elevate one great qb over another i smell agenda. both are great qb's.

No agenda. I take nothing away from Aikman. I just do not understand all the bagging on a forst ballot shoe-in HoF QB like Favre.

Might not like the guy, but you cannot refute his play on the field and his HoF stats. Yeah, he defo messed up on Sunday, but all the "hahahahaha" is just ridiculous imho considering who you are talking about.

IMHO, Favre did not lose that game. It shouldn't even have been close. That INT hurt for sure, but it did not cost them the game ala Jason "one more year please i dont suck" Campbell.

Oh please. Would you at least try to be honest?

There are no fans in the NFL who are going to unanimously genuflect to the greatness of Brett Favre. Your own Commanders fans won't do it. So why would you expect Cowboys fans to?

Oh, I know, so you can post a lot of stupid rhetoric and act all smart because you know his stats. Here, let me help you out Oil Check, no matter how great Brett Favre is, he is always going to have detractors. The reason is simple, he gets a lot of love from the media, throws a lot of INTs at critical times in big games, and he retires and un-retires regularly.

I am not bothered by any of that stuff, but other people are. It is called allowing them to have an opinion. You would do well to learn that.

Now let me address the karma thing. Here's an unpleasant little fact for you. That final TD pass would rub the fans of any team wrong. Not just Cowboys fans Oil Check. If it happened to your team, it would piss you off. You want proof?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=271028017

Go take a look at any Commanders forum and find that game thread. Even with Brady out of the game it was still pretty galling that New England was throwing the football up that big. I got a hundred bucks says I can show you where Commanders fans called the Patriots loss in the Super Bowl...karma.

You want to take the bet Oil Check?

but it does seem you want to give favre all the glory for making the vikings as good as they were, but forgive his mistake cause ...

well i don't know why to be honest.

the vikings lost that game. i don't care what it SHOULD have been in your eyes, we know what it is now. they lost. not favre, not any one person but the TEAM lost.

do we agree there? or are we back to your silly "favre made the team but it's not his fault they lost..." statement?

you mix team / individual success at your leisure and it's giving me a headache.

See, once again you lower yourself to silliness and juvenile behavior with all your BS name-calling.

You are not worth my time. I will not lower myself to your level, so I will just not respond to anything you have to say.

If you decide you want to have an intelligent debate, I am all for it; but I am not going to answer that diatribe of incessant babbling.

You have to be better than that. C'mon Man!
