Elise killed with the first song of the night. I don't know what she was thinking on the second one though.
I think the whole night went to Skylar though. Both songs were great.
I don't get the love for Joshua or Jessica. They are both such boring performers. They both have good voices but there is just something missing, regardless of what the judges say.
Phillip was good, not great. the second song was just odd for him. Don't think it did him any favors.
Simply based on these performances I would put the bottom three as...
Phillip
Jessica
Joshua

Hollie will have some success though. i think the deal with Phillip is that he just doesn't care what happens. He is just waiting to get voted off so he can do what he wants. I'm not sure he even cares about winning this at this point. He is very unique and will have a real niche audience.
If Elise would have performed the whole season like she did on the first song last night, I would be a fan. But she doesn't know who shi is for the most part.

Elise should have been gone before this but she is a good signer. I still am at a loss for the Sanchez and Joshua love. They are the two most boring performers in the group.

Even though she a local girl I still didn't watch the show. I heard her sing in one place here in Charleston, but it was at least a year ago so I don't remember her too well.
Being on American Idol is good for her but bad for her fans. They're not going to be able to see her as cheaply as they did before. I don't think I paid a cover charge to see her.

While I didn't like the Dave Matthews song, Philip showed off how talented he is as as singing guitarist. And it was a good cover of that song, just not my favorite DMB song. The reason Phillip is getting votes is because of the style he is playing. He is not pop, and he never will be nor want to be. Of the top 10, he is probably the only one whose music I would buy. All of the alternative, rockabilly, and singer-songwriter music lovers, me included, love what he is doing.

They need more time to develop. Like I have said before, the best all around performer is Skylar.

PS: i was a huge lee dewyze fan during his time on idol & bought his album, which i still think is great even though some people might think otherwise

I dont think Phillip will end up like Dewyze. Dewyze had no identity, and was just subject to the ideas that the producers threw at him. Phillip has a very definite style. I know he gets a lot of DM comparisons, even from me, but he is different in the way he performs. DM is sooooo laid back when he performs. Phillip is wrapping himself around every song. It may just be a lack of confidence compared to DM, but it is quite different in my eyes.
I also like the way he is rebelling against the show in some ways. They want all the contestents to suck up to the "want to be a pop star" idea, but Phillip isn't playing that game. He is who he is, and nothing seems to be changing that. I respect that about him. By the votes he keeps getting, I guess others do, too.
