American Idol season 13

What a screw up for Idol.

Pick the damn top 20, don't string 5 people out and then sabotage the other ten into nerve raddled out of breath crap. Not one performance was on the money.

I agree that was a piss poor way to handle selections. Though I thought Jena's performance was outstanding. The rest were just awful.

I don't see why they keep saying that is the best they have had since very early. It seems pretty weak to me with not much talent there. I don't see a star/idol in the bunch.

Agree. It's a pretty weak group overall, but there are a couple standouts. The weird looking guy that plays guitar is an incredible musician.

In my opinion I'd have to say this is one of the weakest top 13 in Idol history and I have been watching since season one. I think it all started when the judges only picked 20 out of the 30 to perform last week. At least let us decide! I like Majesty and Jena but I don't think there is a superstar in the group this season. I told my wife last night that I wouldn't be surprised if this show is off the air in 1-2 years. It's lost a lot over the years and I know that the ratings have been down as well. Also there really hasn't been a ton of contestants that have made it big. In 12 seasons there's been over 144 finalists and what only 5-6 that have really made it?

I wish the voice had not started...they have had no chair turns that would be in the idol top 13.

I completely agree! After the initial audition round I was thinking this season is going to have a ton of talent and for some reason it has gone the other way. Plus with Harry Connick, Jr. as a new judge and Keith Urban returning I thought because of the fact they know music and talent they'd put through some really good contestants. I posted this last week that I think this is one of the worst talented top 12 in Idol history. Almost all of the contestants are forgettable and the ones that are good aren't blowing me away. I heard the show is bleeding money every week. It will make it through the season but it is up in the air after this season. They might do a major shake-up with all new judges, but they will have to turn a 180. The Voice is clearly the favorite now and should be.

Yeah.....I haven't looked at the ratings yet but I would have to imagine that they are down? How many times do they do a major shake-up with the judges? They did that last season with Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey and it blew up in their faces. I know there are new producers this year but they really haven't made the show any better. I also think one of the reasons The Voice is better because the talent would rather be on that show then on American Idol. They get to be mentored and coached by some of the best musical artists in the business and the contestants on American Idol get mentored by Randy Jackson lol. Not saying Randy Jackson doesn't know about the music business because he does but Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher, and Shakira are very well known musicians/singers and can relate to the contestants better. I am not a huge fan of Simon but after he left the show AI started to go downhill. This season is so bad I might not watch it all the way through like I have previous seasons. I give it major props for being on for 13 seasons but I think it's time to close up shop after this season.

Several had their best performances...based on just last night the bottom 3 would be Ben, Sam and Jessica.

The best last night for me was Alex with Malaya, Caleb and Jena right behind. C J and Dexter were both good and for once M K wasn't the Steven Wright of singers she actually had a little bit of dynamics showing.

My guess is either Jessica or M K go home.

Ive watched since Season 5, but this has got to be the least star quality group of contestants ever. Jena, Gina, Jeena( if that is really your name) does have a nice voice. The others are just bleh.

Its taken me awhile, but I have finally come to realize this. Its done. I much prefer THE VOICE.
