This is why I would take some off ignore after a period of time. But I found out, they still do the same thing. So right back to ignore they go. Now if they were to apologize, I would reconsider. But a few may never come off my list.
:lmao: So true dear. I did the same. Every once in awhile I'll peek only to find they're still replying to my posts that weren't even directed to them.

Hello? Is there anyone at home? You're On Ignore! o_O

I honestly never remember who bashes one of my posts
I don’t take things personal since I know I’m right to begin with lol
Here's the secret, stay on the move from thread to thread and make many posts so if someone has a problem with one, no biggie. Some come in spoiling for a fight so that is always present on any public forum.

Unless you start a thread and then it is considered thread maintenance to stay there and take your lumps with the trumpets of discord. I have thought about creating another log in to attack myself first. Really kick my butt, bring family into it and others might think "damn, that was harsh, believe I lighten up a bit on the old fool".

I have posters disagree with me on a daily basis, even when I am not here. They ask "where is he"? "We don't know". "Well, he should be here so I can blast him".

Some don't stop to think about the difference between disagreeing and being disagreeable. I have posters disagree with something I've written all the time but very few times have they been aggressive and by not being aggressive, they allow me to actually think about their response and not react to it and I really enjoy the different perspectives.

The only real thing that bothers me about our forum is when someone takes a poster's comments and makes assumptions about them and their real life, that is beyond rude. Because someone doesn't like a player or coach or management or the way the team plays or just gets down on them means nothing about their real life. This is nothing but a football team and doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. What is far more important than this football team is how it's fans treat each other on a public forum.

It would be interesting to compare ignore lists. One of my part time gigs is security and I've noticed that bars/clubs in the same area have almost identical "do not serve" lists.

I know a guy in my area, he has been barred from just about every bar with in a 10 miles radius. He was even barred form a local family restaurant.
He had been barred from several places numerous times. Including the one I used to own. He was allowed to return after I sold it to a family member. He was barred from there for a month then allowed to return 5 or 6 times, but now is barred permanently.

I am pretty sure there are a few places he can go into now, but give it time.
One place barred him before they even opened from day one based on his reputation. Supposedly from what I was told.

This is why I have a lot of posters on ignore, was from the public name calling and insults. Or a few their down out right same old hate posting.
Disagree with me, make you point, and that is fine. We all can do that. But the insults and name calling and such, they go on ignore. I would take some off ignore after a period of time. But I found out, they still do the same thing. So right back to ignore they go.

I miss out on some threads because of those on my list start them, but so be it. If it is newsworthy, It I will find it some other way anyhow.
Now if they were to apologize, I would reconsider. But a few may never come off my list.
I have never even considering putting someone on ignore, I do not have to read or respond to what they write.

And I had a poster on the old forum that despised the ground I walked on and went out of his way to trash me and anything I wrote. I guess even he couldn't use the ignore button. But I refused to play his game and he would go away for a while. He wasn't a full timer or I might have considered it.

I don't know, the ignore button is surrender to me. If I am letting someone get to me that badly, that's on me. And I do not take what I see here at face value a lot of the time and I wonder what's going on there. Is that a poster in pain that I am unaware of, am I making snap judgment based on what they're writing in something as frivolous as a sports forum?

I come here for fun, to laugh and have a good time and to learn as well for there are others that know more about this than I do but mostly for fun. And I admit it, I do enjoy watching the throw downs with posters that get out of hand. Reminds me of the fights after school behind the cafeteria.

Back from the quail hunt. Just nothing like hunting in the snow. Labs are happy. Curled together in front of the fire. Don't miss the mega-moon Saturday night.

After some self-introspection, I’ve realized that I’ve often times been harsh and abrasive to fellow members on the forum for their opinions and part of it was accompanied with a feeling of arrogance.

I wanted to apologize to all those members I was rude and abrasive too, particularly those who defend Dak and even Jerry and guys like Garrett. It is, in the end, football and we all share our love if the team.

This includes everybody who thinks to himself that he may be referring to me and if that is the case, it definitely refers to you. Again, my apologies for my rude behavior and often times condescending approach towards debating and plan on changing

This includes guys like @Streetwise and @OmerV especially. If you have any personal gripes please don’t hesitate to message me personally so I can apologize individually.

Ok bruh. Takes a real dude to do what you just did. Salute.

So you're now admitting that Dez didn't catch it in Green Bay? I'm suspecting you knew that was the case all along and just wanted to appear like you were a "true" supporter. But remember, the truth comes out in the wash. Thanks for acknowledging.

Marcus, you are a true internet warrior and a great example of internet drama! Taking a post from this thread title and using it to attack someone - really funny!

I actually have a Team named "It was a Catch" in one of my leagues". It is a league with people I know and see every day!

I don't think anyone has to apologize this is a forum and I don't think many here know who they're talking too . sports is competitive and just men in particular are competitive by nature( testosterone oozing) . I don't know how many women are here but I bet they do it too among other women. it's big to apology but you owe me nothing, just keep being you.

I respect that. It takes a big man to admit wrongdoing and strive to be better. You're a better man as a result.

Right, this is an online forum where hardly anyone knows each other and people are shield by computer monitors and avatars. Which is why you rarely see an apology and fans insult others the way they do. You can’t get punched in the mouth online. Hiding out in cyber space brings out the courage and idiot in many fans. They forget there’s a fan behind each post who’s pulling for the same team they are. Fans say things to others on this board that they would never say to their face.

This isn’t like Facebook where you have your picture up there and are posting to people you actually know and attended school with. There’s a lot more thought in what you post on Facebook because most care what their friends and former classmates think of them. No one wants to come off like an idiot in front of people that know them. On this board fans could care less how they come off. I understand we’re all passionate about the team and are going to disagree at times but you can be passionate about the team and disagree without coming off like an idiot.

to me nobody should take anything personal here. who cares what someone think of them on a message, it's just not that serious

I get what you’re saying but if fans don’t think much of your football insight or think you’re an idiot they won’t take you seriously and it would be a waste of time posting your opinions. There’s been posters that have created such a bad board reputation they’ve either had their usernames changed or deleted their account and created a new one just to escape the bad reputation they had.

Could be the bars call and warn each other about people. That's what happened to my friends and I when we got kicked out of Boston....Well, not literally "kicked", more like got a police escort and a "request" never to return.
