Let's keep in mind going into this game that:
- The season is still early.
- This is just one game.
- Home teams in big games have a big inherent advantage.
- This has become one of our tougher games on paper.
- We can lose multiple games this year and still have a very successful season. We will still look like a bad team immediately following any particular loss.
A lot of media types are talking about what a circus this is. I'd like instead to propose that many of the posters in here appear to be on some kind of rollercoaster -- victories bring taunts and Superbowl predictions; losses bring calls for multiple cuts and predictions of doom. The rollercoaster turns and loops and fans get disoriented and weird things happen: 31-point victories become somber occasions to point out our faults and first-quarter incompletions are signs of the apocalypse.
I think we can beat Philadelphia and I will be pulling for the Cowboys just like everybody else here. If/when they lose, however, I will move on pretty quickly.
