An Elite defense with Dak could be enough

Then your version of elite and mine are quite different. When your defensive unit over a period of time is a top ranked defense that is elite. You produce 1 season of excellent that is not elite. Having said that I would consider the Bears and Raven elite since they were ranked as top defense more than 1 season. So where the pats
Are you saying you can't see the difference between the 2000s Ravens and any of those Pats defenses?

I think Ravens were and excellent defense no doubt. if you wanted to rate the best defense I would say they ranked right up there with the best but the Pats defense played as big of a role in the Pats success. I know you seem to think Brady did it alone and that is so far from the truth. As for Dak, yes I want to see Dallas put out a defense that can stop opponents and put the ball back into the hands of the offense and I don't think Dak needs a Ravens defense to do that or a 85 Bears to do that.

I believe the defense will only be considered "good enough" if we win a Championship with Dak at QB.

Every failed season will be because the defense wasn't good enough.

I'm seeing that pattern forming.

What metric or metrics do you consider most important when judging whether a defense is great or not?

Simple 2000 Ravens won SB with Dilfer, 2020 Bucs with Goat ( old Goat but still )
That's a HUGE difference, but still only one of the many differences.

The 2000 Ravens are historically elite.

The 2020 Bucs are just a great defense.

There's levels to things.

You homers only fuel the vitriol from trolls. Just like in Romo days. Tough to tell which is worse sometimes .

Elite is HOF caliber.
Guess I'll always be a Cowboys Homer. That's just the way it is. I have to go with what they put out there on the field. Don't have a choice. I don't coach them, and I don't pay them. I just watch them.

They held them under there scoring average from the regular season. Unfortunately our offense only scored 17 points.
Dak scored 14 out of those 17 points.

The problem was clearly our Oline and RBs unable to contribute in the running game. But so many lazily blamed Dak.

The one thing the Cowboys have missed this era . Or shouid I say the biggest thing they’ve missed is building a top 5 caliber Elite defense .

Some fans forget even with HOF QB’s like Roger and Troy we had top caliber defenses . Doomsday was our motto.

But in this Cap era it’s difficult to build both . Most either have an Elite QB or Elite Defense . The Cowboys have not had either this era.
To be fair if most starting quarterbacks in the NFL had an elite defense then it could be enough

Well who knows.

What we do know is that even an average defense is too much to handle for him.

Overall our offense could be enough if we had an Elite defense.

Overall our ever improving defense could be enough if we had an Elite offense……right now neither is elite nor scares any coordinators

If you have a top 10ish QB, the blue print should be to protect him and build an elite defense around a dominant front 7.

We’ve neglected that blueprint for 16 years now
