Yeah something like that, but much more funny….since I’m clearly quite funny!

I host and cook most of TG and my Mom is used to me demanding that dinner is fully over with by 4pm (eastern) the latest, all revolving around the game. Spoke to her the other day and told it no longer matters. She wasn’t sure what to say.

This calendar year has finally broke me.
Yeah, same here. We always have our Thanksgiving meal BEFORE the Cowboys game!!

I understand any Cowboys fan’s excitement over winning in Washington Sunday and I fault no one for being excited to get a win. But when I look back on what happened late in the 4th quarter, this was as freakish a NFL game as I’ve ever seen. It’s very hard for me to suddenly believe this team is any different than what we thought a week before. But a win is a win in the NFL…right?

Honestly, the final score was completely deceptive of the kind of game that was. It was really a game where the defense played pretty well while the offense was pretty mediocre at best. The game really came down to the last 7 min. Look at how crazy this sequence was:
  • At the end of the third qtr, the score was 10-9 Dallas.
  • With just over 7 min left in the game, it was 13-9 Cowboys, then Donovan Wilson forced a fumble, which Eric Kendricks recovered.
  • The Cowboys drove 44 yards in 5 plays with the Rush TD pass to Schoonmaker making 20-9 with just 5 min left.
  • Wash then made their long TD drive and two point conversion which made it 20-17 with 2:14 left.
  • Somehow Dan Quinn lost his mind and kicked to the best kickoff returner in football and Turpin took it home. 27-17 Dallas with 2:01 left.
  • Wash took 5 plays to get in FG range to make it 27-20 with 1: 40 left and their timeouts.
  • The Cowboys were able to milk the clock to where Wash got ball back at their own 14 with around 40 seconds and no timeouts.
  • Then, in one of the worst defensive meltdowns I’ve ever seen, Terry McLaurin somehow gets loose for an 86 yard miracle TD…and then their K shanks the PAT. 27-26 Cowboys.
  • Amazingly, on the ensuing on-sides kick, Juanyeh Thomas runs another KO back for a TD with 14 seconds left. 34-26.
That last 7 minutes of football is the craziest I‘ve ever seen. And the final score is completely deceptive. We went from 10-9 with 15 min left to a 34-26 final score. And if anyone thinks this Cowboys offense is better than it’s been…we had two TD drives- one a good 80 yard drive but the other was 44 yards after a TO.

A Cowboys win no matter how ugly is still a win. But this team is still not very good.
Good post. I agree with every thing. Answer to the OP is, not very likely. Like you said, we are a bad team still.

They are showing the replay of this game on NFLN tonight. I'm going to watch it since I wasn't able to fully give my attention to the game as I was making raviolis during that time and the TV was on in the background, and I couldn't hear anything.
Were they homemade raviolis from scratch?

I'm sorry that the Cowboys have gotten to this level. I'm in a similar situation, the interest has dropped off. Watching the 90's highlights is just depressing... and has been for a while.

Not to completely dump on our offense…but they basically scored 20 against a defense that going into that game was ranked 18th overall and 32nd against the run. Those two kickoff returns were a gift.
Unless you count the block/missed FG, which 95/100 they would have been good. Then they got 26, which is pretty solid.

Of course, you can't play games like this.

"Wild" football tends to mean not every fundamentally sound football.

haha.. We had football Gods on our side for once. I was streaming the game. So was behind couple of plays.

Somebody in the Chatroom posted, "Dallas TD". Obviously, he was ahead or watching game live. We told him bugger off, thought he was lying.

Few minutes later, Turpin took it to the house. Spilled my eggnog all over the keyboard.. ..lol..

Honestly can never tell with these teams.

Our only win in 1989 was vs them. The 6-5 Cowboys took out the 11-0 WFT in 91.

The last Dallas SB winner lost twice to the 4-12 WFT.

Just off the top of my head. There’s more I’m sure

Take away the 2 kickoff returns and that game is a loss.

Anyone, other than Jerrah trying to sell hope, that believes this team is all of a sudden better and making a playoff run is nuts. They will probably win another ugly game against the Giants so we will get another week of hope and Jerrah hype.
