when it comes to division games, you can almost always throw out the records. rivalry games are the bestIn all my years watching the cowboys, I thought i had seen all the parody by now......then what do you know.....This game and its last 7 mins was bonkers!
Not that I remember. I read somewhere that those two kickoff return TDs in the fourth quarter happened for the first time ever in the Super Bowl era, which is 58 years old.Have the Cowboys ever had two KO returns for a TD in one game?
wow, anyone mad about juanyeh??? I'm glad he took it all the wayNot that I remember. I read somewhere that those two kickoff return TDs in the fourth quarter happened for the first time ever in the Super Bowl era, which is 58 years old.
Yeah I think scoring is always good!wow, anyone mad about juanyeh??? I'm glad he took it all the way
Two teams both going in the wrong direction, but I like that we played hard. We beat a team that has a bad defense and only won games because Daniels was getting them big leads. Since the O slowed down, they’ve lost 3 in a row because their defense is just as bad as ours has been this year.I understand any Cowboys fan’s excitement over winning in Washington Sunday and I fault no one for being excited to get a win. But when I look back on what happened late in the 4th quarter, this was as freakish a NFL game as I’ve ever seen. It’s very hard for me to suddenly believe this team is any different than what we thought a week before. But a win is a win in the NFL…right?
Honestly, the final score was completely deceptive of the kind of game that was. It was really a game where the defense played pretty well while the offense was pretty mediocre at best. The game really came down to the last 7 min. Look at how crazy this sequence was:
That last 7 minutes of football is the craziest I‘ve ever seen. And the final score is completely deceptive. We went from 10-9 with 15 min left to a 34-26 final score. And if anyone thinks this Cowboys offense is better than it’s been…we had two TD drives- one a good 80 yard drive but the other was 44 yards after a TO.
- At the end of the third qtr, the score was 10-9 Dallas.
- With just over 7 min left in the game, it was 13-9 Cowboys, then Donovan Wilson forced a fumble, which Eric Kendricks recovered.
- The Cowboys drove 44 yards in 5 plays with the Rush TD pass to Schoonmaker making 20-9 with just 5 min left.
- Wash then made their long TD drive and two point conversion which made it 20-17 with 2:14 left.
- Somehow Dan Quinn lost his mind and kicked to the best kickoff returner in football and Turpin took it home. 27-17 Dallas with 2:01 left.
- Wash took 5 plays to get in FG range to make it 27-20 with 1: 40 left and their timeouts.
- The Cowboys were able to milk the clock to where Wash got ball back at their own 14 with around 40 seconds and no timeouts.
- Then, in one of the worst defensive meltdowns I’ve ever seen, Terry McLaurin somehow gets loose for an 86 yard miracle TD…and then their K shanks the PAT. 27-26 Cowboys.
- Amazingly, on the ensuing on-sides kick, Juanyeh Thomas runs another KO back for a TD with 14 seconds left. 34-26.
A Cowboys win no matter how ugly is still a win. But this team is still not very good.
C'mon Jer, give us a break, it's over!I've never seen anything like it before either. But you are right, this team is still not very good.
The problem is now Jerry is convinced the season isn't over yet and we are still in it.
Home made raviolis? Wow!They are showing the replay of this game on NFLN tonight. I'm going to watch it since I wasn't able to fully give my attention to the game as I was making raviolis during that time and the TV was on in the background, and I couldn't hear anything.
Came here for football, and got hungry lolIt's our family tradition to make home-made raviolis for Christmas every year. We make them ahead of time and freeze them till Christmas.
Wow that sounds delicious. I would love to abandon the Turkey for some ravioli on any holiday. We’ve done tamales and tacos for Christmas dinner but I can’t talk my wife into having an alternative Thanksgiving meal, lol. It's our family tradition to make home-made raviolis for Christmas every year. We make them ahead of time and freeze them till Christmas.
Let's keep the conversation about football!Yeah I think scoring is always good!
A perfect summation! This team is not very good and was the beneficiary of poor coaching from the opposition for a change.I understand any Cowboys fan’s excitement over winning in Washington Sunday and I fault no one for being excited to get a win.
