Can would not sign to be a backup. He’s an MVP, SB QB still in his prime.

With that understood, he wouldn’t have signed for 3m, even as a backup

this is one of those madden type posts that only make sense to thr OP and even then, the clarity is uncertain.

I don't know. It's an iffy proposition because both players were no longer wanted by their teams. That should tell us a little something.

I think Dalton was a great backup pickup and should give us more hope if something were to happen to Dak than having to play Rush would have. Relying on him as a starter would mean counting on a player who has barely completed more than 60 percent of his passes once in his past three seasons and has not even had a 2-1 TD-to-int. rate in that time (62-37).

Dak has not completed less than 62 percent of his passes in any of the past three seasons and has 74 passing TDs to 32 ints.

Now, their circumstances differ, but the numbers show a distinction in their play where there is a strong possibility of a discernible drop-off.

Physically yes, but there's too many highs and lows with Cam. If he's not doing the superman celebrating an incosequential first down he's on the sideline with a towel over his head crying about something. We need a qb with a level head. I'm cool on him.

Cam is streaky. In 2018, he completed 67 percent of his passes. The previous four years, he didn't even complete 60 percent. He can be poor in his TD-to-int. ratio or have a good year there like he did in 2015. What has helped Newton overcome his overall subpar passing is his running ability.

Agreed, that’s the thing with Cam, he’s coming off 2 major injures. I don’t think he’s the player he used to be. Plus like you said, he thinks he is, Dalton was the perfect pickup for us.

It depends on if Cam came at Dalton's price.

I think McCarthy would still take Dalton due to his accuracy in a WCO.

Cam is still going to run and that would make me very nervous.

Now if I could have Both of them..

I would really have to think about that.

If another team lost a starting QB..

we decide whom to trade and fatten our 2021 draft incase we wanted to draft QB high.

It's a thought and not a bad investment if our cap can handle it.

It should be fine, since 2015 Dallas has had 50 draft picks, 30 0n defense and 20 on offense,
and That doesn't include free agent signings, which this year 4 of five were defensive players.
