You know an analyst I really miss on TV?

Bob Trumpy, who is now on the Westwood One radio broadcasts. I always thought he did a good job with Enberg. Perhaps I'm influenced by the fact he was the analyst for our first SB win over the Bills. I'll never forget him telling Enberg in the 2nd half of that game..."Dick, these Dallas Cowboys are going to be good for a looonnng time"!
I really liked Trumpy as an analyst... I think CBS and Fox are doing themselves a disservice by not taking him on. My favorite play by play guy?? Curt Gowdy, even though he was a baseball guy, it was that voice that got your blood flowing during games... for me anyways...

I used to really like Pat Hayden.

I think he now does some college games, but as a color analyst, simply the best.

Used to always have intricate explanations about the most subtle of nuances.

I guess it was over most peoples heads.

He used to be on ESPN sunday night broadcast.

Oh yeah, I liked Haden too.. but he didn't do the ESPN games, he did the TNT games with Skip Carey... But yep, I agree with you about Haden. Had a great knowledge of the game and didn't have a voice that sounded like a drowning cat.

For me - Al Michaels is the worst. He may not do an actually bad job, but his hatred towards Dallas and the entire organization is mind boggling.

The guy can't control himself during Cowboy games. He's pathetic.

its so painfully obvious, the guy is a punk. Michaels' hatred for the Cowboys is blatant sometimes.
Madden is so tired. I think he holds Favre's n*ts in his mouth. He gets to talking about a player he likes and he just goes on and on about how he walks on water and on and on.....
Collinsworth is just useless and annoying although no one has ever been as bad as Boomer.

Aikman is pretty good but sometimes he talks too much. Moose is really good. I like Buck quite a bit.
my favorites all time are Somerall and (although college) Keith Jackson. Truly enjoyable to listen to.

If I'm watching a game in hi def it's on the big screen, as a result I've got it on the stereo as well for the dolby. Then I just turn down the volume on the front and center channels, turn up the volume on the surround speakers, and I hear the crowd and the stadium announcer instead of the tv guys. It's a much better way to watch the games IMO. Unfortunately I can't turn the front and center speakers down completely on my stereo, I'd have to unplug them, but the tv announcers are reduced to a distant murmor that's covered by the crowd noise and stadium sounds about 90% of the time.

Just get rid of Collinsworth. I've always felt 3 in the booth was too many. Aikman and Buck would do just fine.

And another thing...why does Fox have Tony Siragusa down on the sidelines? Or anywhere for that matter. That guy annoys the hell out of me. He's another 3rd wheel guy that never offers anything informative imo.

Moose talks too much....but other than that, I think he's good..they've got a pretty good team...Siragusa is better than I thought he'd be...

Buck and Aikman have a great chemistry going...Buck pokes fun, Aikman is the perfect foil...

Collinsworth is a gnat...

I do like the analysis Phil Simms provides...I liked him better with Gumbel than I do with Nance...

Madden is ok...the act has grown a bit tiresome...but I'll always like him because he is a genuine fan of the game...

Trump does a great job on radio...should be on TV...

I agree with you 100%. I must have yelled "shut up Michaels" at the TV 20 to 30 times during the game and nearly half were his complaining about that 1 TD, and typed "you're an idiot Michaels" or "michaels is a moron" over and over in the chatroom... he gets on my last nerve....

I guess you don't want to find him underneath your Christmas tree??

I don't know about anyone else, but I was happy when Aikman was paired with Moose during his first year on FOX. I thought they were a great pair. Maybe it's just the Cowboys homer in me, but having two legends like that call the game is just about as good as having God tell me what just happened in the game.

I loved the Aikman/Moose pairing too. But we won't see that again. Too many Cowboys haters out there. Heaven forbid two former great Cowboys should call games together, it may look like the Cowboys were taking over the booth ...
