Anonymous Dallas assistant coach says our WRs don’t win

I'm just ticked off that so many guys who are passionate enough about the Cowboys to join and participate on a forum about the team, are all arguing about the root causes of the teams problems, when it's obvious that the actual people responsible are simply not as concerned.

Because there has to be a basis for why you would think fans are more critical of Dak because he's an African American. What's your basis for it? As noted, on this very board, a very good white QB was often criticized unfairly. Romo, at times was one of the Top 5-7 passers in a given year and that didn't stop the various threads on this board debating and criticizing his play.

So with that in mind, how can one draw the conclusion that part of Dak's criticism is based on race? Just a gut feeling?

Recently joined this board because I lurked awhile back and saw some interesting convo going on and decent football knowledge being throwed around. But this board is insufferable now. Maybe its always been this way and I didnt know but its literally a Dak bash site. How many threads can you all make saying the same thing different ways a million times? We get it, you all think Dak sucks. I dont think he is great but I dont think he is as bad as he is made out to be. I agree with another poster that said he wouldnt be critiqued as hard if he looked differently. He just doesn't fit the mold of what you are used to seeing. Nobody will admit it but subconsciously it is being done. I dont see Mariota, Carr, Bortles, etc being torn apart daily on other boards this way. And they are qbs that were actually drafted high and have weapons. They are performing just as bad or worse. Dak cant carry the team but he is 4th or 5th on the list of things wrong with this team. I can only name maybe 4 or 5 qbs in the league that actually can carry a team. Even less with these weapons and coaching staff. Also, how many teams in recent years have won superbowls because of the play of their qb besides maybe Brady and AROD. Look around the league and you will see that once a team breaks the bank for a qb their window is closed. Our answer is simple. Replace Garrett and get a real offensive scheme in here. Bring in a veteran qb for Dak to fight it out with next year, dont just give it to him. We cant accurately judge him without seeing him have a competent staff. If he isnt the answer then move tf on. If he performs, give him a Bortles type deal. Dak saved our franchise when Romo went down despite what most think, so i think he deserves to give a fair chance. But if yall think tanking the season and drafting any of the qbs in this years draft is the answer then you are sadly mistaken. We would be in the same predicament. The Dak bashing threads are ruining this site.

I watch every QB in the league make those types of mistakes and poor throws every Sunday. I simply do not see how anyone can make hard and fast conclusions about Dak and the offense given the coaching and personnel on the Cowboys.

I've been watching since the early 70s, i don't know if Dak is good enough. I hope he is, but i'm convinced we won't know until we at least give him an NFL fighting chance.

i agree with this. Qbs make these type of throws on the daily and nothing is said. I see no other qbs throws getting dissected on every drive. Much better qbs than Dak. Dak just doesn't look like some of us would like him to look. Its hard to swallow but its the truth. We have ppl advocating for Mike White and Cooper Rush..Its sickening

Posts like this do little to further the point you are trying to make, especially when you make comments like "you think Dak sucks". Some do, but many other have not and actually laid out compelling cases with stats and other facts as to why he's likely not the QB for us if this kind of play continues.

And I'll take a delete for this but it is 100% ********* ******** to throw a racial component in here accusing fans, just some random subsection of Cowboys fans, of criticizing Dak because of his skin color. That's about as low as one can go in this debate.

1) People advocating for Mike White and Rush are dumb.

2) Why would people on this board dissect all the bad throws from other QBs? Especially better QBs? I mean why would we spend the time dissecting all the throws Drew Brees makes, including the ones he misses? I mean it seems pretty obvious that while the best QBs in the league make bad throws, they likely make way less bad throws than mediocre and bad QBs, right?

I'll be honest. I totally misread what your point was. I actually thought all this time you were arguing that Dak was really an upper echelon QB who if given better weapons would show he's this Top 5-7ish QB in this league.

Ill clarify. Maybe I wasnt being clear, my bad. No we shouldnt care what other qbs around the league are doing because if it does not affect the Boys we shouldnt care. But Dak isnt graded on the same scale as these other qbs. His faults are magnified as if these other qbs arent doing the same or worse. He is just not criticized the same way. Part of it is because he is the Cowboys QB I do understand. Romo was criticized heavily too but this is on a whole other level. And as far as the race thing, if you cant see it then you will never see it. Venture outside of this board and just look at the conversation.

Well Dak gets more criticism than Romo because frankly Romo was more effective. It's not that hard.

And your last two sentences are total cop outs. Venture outside this board and look at the conversation? What does that mean? Your post started off by criticizing this board and the various Dak criticism threads. Then laid down the racial component with regards to the Dak.

Throwing race in here is just laziness. Do better. Don't accuse criticisms of Dak of being racially motivated because you "think" some people have issues with his skin color. Back it up with proof.

The irony is that your first post is basically a shot across the bow of this board essentially saying people need to do better and then you throw down an accusation involving race that pretty much anyone would tell you would not be something that brings up the level of message board discourse.

Explain it any way you want. Dumb it down any way you want. Such comments evoke racism, whether intended or not. That's why it's best to avoid making them.

I didnt say that was the only reason he was criticized.He deserves to be just like any other qb. I said the way the way he is criticized. The vigor behind his criticism is unmatched. Ill stop the racial talk because you will never see it. Its reasons behind that though with you im sure.. Even your sentence about backing it up with proof and do better sounds like the response to another wide discussion in our country. If you dont see it I can make you see it. This is not a political board so lets cease the talk on this subject.
