Anonymous Dallas assistant coach says our WRs don’t win

Either you don’t understand the point being made, or you just want to put 100% blame on Dak. If that’s your agenda then fine. Feel free.

It’s asinine to say the only reason they can’t make some plays is because of Dak. Actually, it’s complete BS to say it’s only because of Dak. Again Dak is part of the problem. But if you watch football, then you’ll see receivers all across the league, still make some
Plays, even given similar circumstances.

That is what separates good receivers from bad receivers. The good ones can make plays even in tough situations or on poorly thrown balls. The bad receivers cant.

That’s what this thread is about, the fact that our receivers fall under the mediocre/bad category and not the good.

Again, not a hard concept to understand.
They understand. They simply don't care. Probably catch them marching outside of AT&T stadium with hanging burning effigies of Dak, Garrett, Linehan, Stephen and Jerry. lol

I care more about the Cowboys winning, if that means getting rid of Dak great, let's get this done.

It's a simple equation

Mediocre coaching + Mediocre QB + Mediocre WRs = Bottom 3 Ranked Passing Game

The math ain't that hard.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

Anyone blaming only one part of this poor offense has an agenda. Everything stinks.

Exactly Sydla.

Replace one of those into the great category and the final answer becomes better.

Unfortunately our passing game is facing a perfect storm of bad right now.

The question is, can’t any of them make improvements this season? Or is all hope for the season lost. I know what i fear the Answer to be....

Anonymous reports typically seem sketchy. This report seems like a coach covering up for daks poor throws. How about Dak release the ball on time to hit a wr while open?

I was going to say the same thing. Show me where the quarterback reached the end of his drop and the ball actually came out of his hand?

Then show me where the ball was there where it was supposed to be when the receiver came out of his break?

Show me those things, and then I'll throw the receiver under the bus if and when he drops or bobbles it.

I'll also say this.............. I don't trust this franchise when it comes to working the media, etc. You have Jerry talking about the WRs a few days ago, his claiming Dak is the QB of the future, you have an unnamed assistant criticizing the WRs, etc..........

If I wasn't so cynical, you can see the plan already developing where the Jones will blame the WRs for the problems in order to justify Garrett and Dak coming back in 2019. Sure, criticizing and blaming the WRs is a direct reflection on Stephen and his stupid *** plan to build a pass catching corps for Dak, but he's not under any threat of getting fired.

So spend the season and offseason blaming the WRs in order to build the case that Garrett and Dak are really awesome only to have been let down by the WRs.

I wish I could suck at my job and still make millions go sit back and do it.

IMO, if this season continues as it looks like it would, a real front office would blow the whole damn thing up............ fire the coaching staff, bring in a new staff and let them build their offense. If that includes Dak because a new coach thinks he can salvage him, fine. If he thinks he needs to go in another direction, fine.

But it's painfully clear that this mix doesn't work and thinking that simply replacing one of the inputs, whether that be a new QB or all new WRs for example, will drastically change the equation is simply wishful thinking at this point.

Yeah, that's why no team seriously wants Dez. lol

Please. Dez doesn’t want to be anywhere else. He had offers. The team had a player that actually loved the team he played for and they threw him away for nothing but some will never admit it just like they won’t admit the wrong QB was put on the bench in 2016. Doesn’t fit the narrative.

This isn’t about Dez, anyway. It’s about the FO and coaches deflecting responsibility every which way so they aren’t held accountable. They’ve used the tactic before.

I’m so jealous of Stephen Jones.

He gets to play GM of our favorite team, without a single qualification for the job, other than the fact that daddy decided to not pull out one night.

Well I wouldn't put anything past this FO.

Is this really a surprise? These WR's are awful.......

Many people said this in the offseason and August camp. It was really quite obvious. But then you still had those who claimed the WRs were good, would be better without Dez (no I am not suggesting bring Dez back just the idea that a bunch of journeyman WRs would be really good because Dez was gone was pretty silly), etc.

Those were good times.

Absolutely. We need a new HC. A real HC. And then let him decide if he needs to replace Dak, the receivers, the tight ends, or all 3.

he can't he's a slow reader, just part of his scouting reports. "must speed up the pace of his reads" from day one and hasn't changed.

We need a new coaching staff and 'then' a new QB. Can't blame the receivers. That din't work last year.

These aren’t “win” type receivers. These are #3 and worse type receivers. Gallup might develop into a 2. Hurns was probably a 2 before the decline started. But with this bad of a receiving corps you really need a QB that is going to elevate them. Unfortunately rather than having a QB that makes others around him better, we have a QB that needs players around him to make him better. Quite the quandary as you can see.
