appreciate the effort. This aint happening however. No way Sutton goes in round 2. Poona Ford...meh...prolly will be drafted a round higher. I LOVE the Hernandez pick at 28. The best guard and possibly the best olineman in the draft..IMO. steal at 28.

I disagree with your assessment of Hernandez being the best guard and possibly best OL in the draft. I believe Nelson from ND is much better but that is my opinion.

Phenomenal mock. In combo w/next year's projected cap space, this draft would put the Cowboys in position for multiple playoff runs for the next 5 years.

Jefferson is interesting. I didn't draft him in my one superficial draft because he fits only the Will as a LB. A few more pounds and he can play the 7 but I don't think he's got that in him either. He's an underproducing LB with only one spot on a 4-3 team. Maybe I'm wrong and he'll be a better LB in the NFL than college.

I despise the idea of an OG in the first.................. but if it played out like this, lol, yeah I could live with that.

Yeah, I think that's some wishful thinking there.

Not a fan of using a 4th round pick on a QB, would rather see a 2nd LB drafted there and 12 picks is too many.

At least half of them would be cut after training camp.

I do like the thought of trading back twice and picking up extra picks, but I would use those to move back up into rounds 2 and 3.

With three 2nd rounders and a 3, I'd probably would hope to grab two receivers. Is that too much?

I would be happy with Nelsen or Hernandez. IMO...not much separates the 2. Depends on your flavor..

LOL

The flavor being how one is a top ten lock and arguably the best OG in the draft in years and the other isn’t.

nothing is a given just because 1 guy is projected to be drafted earlier. Going by that kind of logic no wonder why teams like the Browns suck annually. You CANNOT say that without 1 down being played at the pro level by these 2 players...nor can I really, which is why I gave the caveat "depends on your flavor." The system matters a lot.

Being drafted and or projected as the best anything doesn't guarantee squat in the NFL. Its about fit.Its about staying healthy..and most of all, scheme. In our system, either guy would be awesome because we are a run heavy team. That suits both men. Now if we were a pass heavy team,I like Nelsen more. He's just a better more proven pass blocker than Will is. I like Hernandez better in Dallas because..value at 19 or 28...and scheme fit. The dude is massive 340 pound beast! A freakish athletic guy that will maul you...and is nasty. What I love is,even at his size,he easily is able to pull on trap plays etc.Thats almost unheard of at his size for ANY olineman. Its like Potato or Potatoe. Its that close with these guys.

I doubt teams will be forking over seconds to move up a few picks in the back half of the first unless Dallas parts with additional picks as well.

Good mock though.

You like Hernandez better because of "scheme fit"?

Girth and yes, scheme fit...meaning,we are not going to ask him to be something he is not. We will use him to run block mostly. Zeke may get very close to 2k yards this year if he is the pick. But Heck yes I would love Nelsen too. That isn't realistic..so to me, the next best lineman is Hernandez in the pecking order. We run a ton,and he just fits what we like to do.

The most balanced and complete olineman is Nelsen..but that's the only difference(pass blocking ability)..its a little better than Hernandez.
