I have not seen a thread on this, but what the heck is up with Beasley? He has almost disappeared from the offense, and he has to be the worst punt returner in the league. How many times is this guy going to call for a fair catch inside the 15 and 10 yard line. This is maddening when it comes to field position.

I rather a fair catch than a turnover!

I thought Gathers was signed to be a red zone, out-jump defender td threat? When has he ever been thrown to in the end zone this year?

Don't recall any, maybe I just forgot them, but there's certainly not a lot of them....

I don't have the numbers either, but it is very few.

We should have kept Switzer and gotten rid of Gathers. Gathers has not been what we thought he would turn out to be; actually, Gathers looks a bit awkward on the field but Im sure he is rusty from being benched most of the game.

You can put that on Linehan's lack of creativity and use of personnel. After what Cooper said in that interview Linehan will be gone at the end of the season. Gathers is doing what he's asked to do.

Wilcox started in front of Heath. Heath misses way too many tackles and has no instincts. Always late to the passes.

Wilcox is damn near unemployed right now. He was never better than Heath. I’m not trusting anybody but Earl Thomas coming here next year. Even the first round safeties are meh

Then why is Wilcox nowhere to be seen in the NFL? He’s not old. Heath is starting on a top 5 defense. Wilcox isn’t starting on the 32nd ranked defense. Give it up

I still like Beasley in certain match ups. And he's doing things out there like blocking that he's not really being noticed for.

It's kind of good for Beasley to go quiet for a while. We want people to forget about him in the playoffs.

If you’re a Beasley fan, better enjoy the next 3 games and whatever the Cowboys do in the playoffs. Because I have a hard time seeing a 30 year old small slot receiver with below average numbers getting the kind of contract he and his agent will be looking for in the off season.

I like Cole Beasley. He’s been a nice player for us for several years. But there are younger, cheaper slot receivers with more upside than CB that can duplicate or even exceed his numbers.

I agree with this.

I love Bease, but we're going to have younger players to sign.

Yeah. Prime example of a guy not to give money to. We over drafted him but had he been drafted later in the 4th or 5th round...would've been a much nicer find.

Coop brought the offense out of the doldrums. The Squirrell is just along for the ride at this point. Gallup is clearly the #2 now.

Look at it from a Cap perspective.

Beasley is going to want over 6 million per year, likely 7. You have Hurns on the books for 6.25 million next year. Tavon Austin actually made 7.5 last year, while we were only on the hook for 3. Tavon will ask for 7+ to get extended.

I would rather pay Hurns the 6.25 million (you can cut him and save 5 and have 1.25 in dead money) . Hurns can play multiple positions besides the slot so you have versatilty. You can move Hurns outside on a few plays and put Cooper in the slot etc..

So I would let Cole and Tavon walk and try my luck in the draft for the slot receiver, if things don't line up well you still have Hurns. If you hit in the draft, you cut Hurns and get back 5 million.

As for punts they trust him to not fumble that's about it.
