I get the joke, but if players like Hooker, Dalvin Cook, Foster, Peppers, etc. drop, all that is going to do is suck the cleaner prospects up and test Dallas' resolve should red flag players fall into their laps. I would prefer some other team being the ones tempted to take risks.

I fully understand that talent trumps all, but invariably any risk player we take ends up living out the worst case scenario. The microscope is so tight when someone is a Cowboy.

I hear ya!

I used to be on the side of the fence in favor of giving character risk players with talent a second chance like Jerry and the Cowboys repeatedly did. But when the results went from mediocre like Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson to teases like Rolando McClain, to players like Hardy and Gregory essentially spitting it back in their faces, I'd had enough.

I wouldn't write off a diluted sample player, but I would definitely look into their history much more closely. But these guys with questionable work ethics and bad attitudes like McDowell and Tabor wouldn't even be on my board, no matter how talented they are.

Why do you keep mentioning Myles Garrett...even in your original post?
This is a guy with a higher Wonderlic than almost anyone in the draft, who is not known as a partier at all, and seems very far removed from this scenario.

I've seen nobody else but you mention him.
CowboyZone threads pop up on Google searches sometimes.
I'd be careful not to perpetuate this unfounded stuff.
floaty is an adherent to the absurdist school of football

Not even Incarcerated Bob would use a CowboysZone/Floaty rumor for nefarious purposes.
I hear you.

But what are some of us doing right now? Googling for information on the topic...as are other fans and beat writers looking for any scoop they can find. As we know, journalism is a joke these days--they'll run with anything to get a head-up on others sometimes. It's comical and shameful.

Go ahead...just Google "Draft Bombshell" right now and see what you find.

I promise this thread will be at or near the top of the list for anyone searching....no matter where they live.

Maybe see who is rather conspicuously missing from Broaddus' list. Possible that's your answer, sir.
Wow. Not sure if its related but there IS one completely missing from Broaddus' 50 player list.

I really hope that another player doesn't have their name sullied and potentially lose money over a false accusation. If it's false, the woman needs to be charged with something more punitive than filing a false police report. I also hope that if the woman is telling the truth that the scumbag gets nailed to the wall.

It also sucks that a name is floating out there without charges being filed. That is terrible and unfair.

TMZ says Conley, you are the winner of unproven allegation ruins your draft stock. Come on down, you are the winner of the Price Is Wrong.

He's going to absolutely tumble down the board. There's no way teams will touch him unless he is cleared before the draft.

Jourdan Lewis is in the same boat. No conviction, just an allegation. At least Brantley probably had a tooth on the ground to justify his inevitable blackballing.

If something like this happened to a woman close to you such as your mother or sister, I would say most would believe it. In fact most would push for them to step forward or take things into their own hands. Imagine how hard it is for an honest person to step forward knowing their name will be dragged through the mud by overzealous fans and media. Most normal people would not want that and may shy away from doing or saying anything because of the rumors and accusations. If that's your loved one then think about how much that hurts.

Let's see what the law decides and let's not jump to conclusions either way. There should be consequences for liars but let's not rush to conclusions.

I will be damned. No Conley.

That's okay, just plug in another CB where he should have been.

Surely I can't be the only one who is bothered by this board's tendency to automatically assume that all physical and sexual assault accusations are false because women are evil or something?
