Another Parcells Team fails in the post season.

You own the Lions. You can hire Belichick or Parcells. Both want the job. Both are the same age. Both have their current resume'.

Frankly you have to question Little Bills competence at X and O just as much as you do BP's. BP without his coordinators and now Little Bill without Weis and Crennel. You also somehow seem to forget that BP has gone to different organizations with different staffs at each one - while Little Bill has only gone to two and only had success at one. AND his success has gotten less since his first staff left.

With all due respect, you can't compare Belichick without Weis/Crennel with Parcells without Belichick.

Without Belichick, Bill Parcells has won 1 playoff game.

Since losing Weis/Crennel, Belichick went to the AFCCG and lost by 4 points, went 16-0 and won the AFC (we all know what happened in the Super Bowl), then had has poor year this past year - and by "poor year" that means they went 11-5 but missed out on the playoffs.

No Super Bowl Championships but that's still a pretty darn good 3 year run, wouldn't you say?

I stand corrected - and happily so since it reinforces my point. My mistake was not realizing that Belichick was with the Giants prior to assuming the role of defensive coordinator in 1985.

But this means I also have to revise my "years without Belichick" figure for Parcells. I thought he had 10 years experience without Belichick but upon further review, it seems he has 7 years as a HC without Belichick on his staff (plus his 1 year as GM of the Dolphins).
