Another Year, Same Exact Garbage

So when this defense improves from bottom to say 15th this year, and the offense is top 5 and the team is a playoff contender- are you guys that are whining going to be happy?

You cant grab a bunch of probowl players all at once, has to be a balance of starters backups with upside and draft picks - we've have done some good thinga and are positioned to be a better team.
We didn’t get any pro bowlers lol. Gary went to 1 but had like 7.5 sacks that year…..he’s not really an k,prove, ent from Clowney. Safeties are decent but nothing special. No linebackers or corners. This was another basic offseason so far….typical if what we do.

I just know that every time we make a trade I feel like were getting ripped off....I haven't the slightest idea who these players are that we signed this year but I hope they help...I saw someone mentioned about Dean choosing Vegas over Dallas.....used to be a time where if the Cowboys came calling for you...you signed with Dallas....we have lost that mystique....I hope everything we do going forwards makes a difference...we can only hope...

They are one year apart…..they have similar ceilings. How much better do you expect Brisker to get?
as far as their nfl game they are more than 1 year apart. Brisker can be a pro bowl caliber guy. Thompson will never make one based on history. When brisket is in his 8th year with no real impact I'd say the same about him as I do Thompson.

All this talk about signing big name free agents and spending big money is a complete lie yet again. It’s actually amazing how every single year we have to deal with this.

It’s the same playbook as always - a complete head scratching trade and signing a bunch of mid to low tier guys. Our biggest signing, Gary, arguably isn’t even an improvement over Clowney and is not cheap whatsoever. I mean you could have spent just a bit more (and not given up a 4th) and got Hendrickson. GB couldn’t wait to get rid of Gary, I couldn’t even imagine how they could contain themselves when Dallas called to offer a 4th lol.

I don’t see how we have improved our defense. People thinking that a new D Coordinator alone is going to do much for the defense are delusional. I’m not sure how fans are happy about free agency so far? Very few draft picks and almost forced to take LB now. Better hit home runs on both first round picks.
I said it last season. I said it before FA and I say it again. Nothing has changed about Jerry. I predicted he would make one splash signing, which he did with Thompson.

Being out on Crosby, Gary was a back up plan. And now back to one year deals and garbage signing. If he was serious he would have made a splash with Lloyd. And Dean and for reasons we don't know yet they signed else where. Probably money related. All Jerry cared about was the clicks and marketing that Cowboys were associated with both. We also missed on Chenal.

Same old garbage.

This draft will be defensive and every one knows it.

The defense will improve. There is no way but up from the 6th worst all time defense and at the end of next year he will say, they knew its a multi year project.

We picked up two good safeties
You picked up one good safety and a guy who is, at best, like the two mediocre safeties who started in 2025. In fact, getting both the safety and the DT from the Chargers this early in free agency make no sense to me. Teams will be cutting better prospects as they sign free agents and need to shave $$'s off the cap.

As to the notion that, had the Cowboys not traded for Gary, they would have been outbid in free agency, that may or not be true. However, DE's who were ranked around where Gary was ranked, or even higher, signed for less. And they didn't require draft compensation.

That's why I like the Thompson move and---nothing else they did.

Wait, we just signed Tyrus Wheat! Yup, really going all in. We god a well rounded safety from the cardinals…..and that’s bout it. Gary isn’t anything special, about on par with Clowney likely. No linebackers or corners. Another basic offseason by Dallas.
? Buck Wheat?

If good means mid then sure

Brisker will never make a pro bowl and if he does 20 people must’ve backed out.

The Gray move is a decent move as well when you factor in the contract. It's a deal that gives the Cowboys maximum flexibility with little downside. For all the complaining, he probably is still the best DE we have on the roster right now.

But it should not have been a move that makes the FO say, "Well we solved DE"................

A starting edge and a starting safety isn't the same.

Same old whining.
Same old hopelessness.
Same old in-fighting.
Same old threats of leaving fan base.
Same old rhetoric.
Same old, same old.
Don't you love it when they tell everyone to stop buying merchandise, stop going to games, stop watching them. Stop talking about them.
But yet here they are talking about them.

Traded for a guy who has the same stats as the guy we had last year.

Signed a safety who is meh.

What happened to all those big free agent signings you were sure they were getting ?

Are they still coming?

No doubt.
Even Jerry himself couldn't have said it better.

Negative publicity is still publicity.
