Barr will not slide to us. Its a moot point.
Who takes him?
Barr will not slide to us. Its a moot point.
Who takes him?
Why do that, Ware only weighs about 260.
Actually, he was 247 at his Pro Day. So, does he have trouble keeping weight on? I think the BIGGEST issue for him is not his weight, but his strength (15 Reps of 225). Even though Ware was only 251 at the '05 Combine, he put up 27 Reps. BIG
I take him over donald. Scheme versatileIf he somehow falls to Dallas at 16 and my guy Aaron Donald is off the board then I'm all for it.
Why do people keep doing this? He is too small to play DE on a permanent basis in the NFL. As a true linebacker who blitzes? yes absolutely but not DE.
Barr is an every down player, even in a 4-3. He can play SAM and then slide to DE on passing downs. If he bulks up 10 lbs he would be fine as an every down RDE. He needs to work on his hands but the kid is still raw, having only played defense 2 years. He was an all-world RB in high school and Rick Neuheisel wasted him as an H-Back for 2 years at UCLA.
I can only think of 8 players that I would say almost for sure won't fall to 16:
then there are 13-15 others that could go before us, but only 7 will....in no particular order:
Lewan
Clinton-Dix
Dennard and/or Gilbert
Ebron
Evans
Barr
Mosley
Lee
Martin
Ealy
Nix
Pryor
This is going to be wild
Interesting.
The talent available at 16, will depend for the most part on whether the top 3 QB's (Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles) are selected within the top 10.
If all 3 QB's are drafted within the top 10, a top flight DT (Donald), OL (Lewan), or LB/DE hybrid (Barr), all of whom would fill needs for Dallas & would more than likely be there at 16.
If the QB needy teams feel they can get a quality QB in the 2nd or 3rd round (Carr, Mettenberger, McCarron, Garoppolo), it is not unlikely on the other hand, than a QB could slide to Dallas at 16 - Bridgewater or Manziel.
If Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland, and Minnesota all pass on the QB's in the 1st round (which is conceivable), Dallas would be in a good position to select either Bridgewater or Manziel.
Sooner or later, more likely sooner, a quality replacement for Romo must be developed ~ why not Bridgewater or Manziel?
