I'd disagree with that. Scandrick was one of our better defensive players before the injury, and did it over a much longer period of time.

The last nine DBs we drafted were 2016 CB Anthony Brown (6th round, played in 6 games), S Kavon Frazier (6th round, 0 games); 2015 CB/FS Byron Jones (1st round, 22 games); 2014 DB Ahmad Dixon (7th round, 11 games), DB Terrance Mitchell (7th round, 8 games), 2013 DB JJ Wilcox (3rd round, 51 games), CB B.W. Webb (4th round, 39 games), 2012 CB Morris Claiborne (1st round, 46 games), DB Matt Johnson (4th round, 0 games).

The last seven DBs Philly drafted were 2016 CB Blake Countess (6th round, hasn't played), FS Jalen Mills (7th round, played in 6 games); 2015 CB Eric Rowe (2nd round, 18 games), CB Jacorey Shepherd (6th round, 1 game), CB Randall Evans (6th round, 1 game); 2014 DB Jaylen Watkins (4th round, 14 games), CB Ed Reynolds (5th round, 7 games); 2013 DB Eric Wolff (5th round, 18 games), DB Jordan Poyer (7th round, 48 games)

So we have two starters and two backups remaining from our last nine DB picks, but the starters are both first-round picks.

The Eagles have two backups from their last nine DB picks, but have generally taken them lower than we have.

Of course, there are other factors as well, such as the Eagles having changed coaches this year. Overall, though, our DB draft picks have appeared in 183 games while the Eagles' picks have appeared in 113.

I went back to when we got Claiborne, so it wasn't completely random. It also would have been better to compare Dallas with another team with a steady head coach situation.

I agree with the first sentence. After the first three rounds.....64% in the first and 46% in the second, there isn't a huge difference in success ....24% - 3rd, 11% - 4th, 17% - 5th, 8% - 6th, 11% - 7th.

Uh, we won with a great defense as well. Why did you leave that out? We also won another Super Bowl when signing the greatest DB of all time when he was still in his prime.

I don't think some of you understand how effective it is to have a CB who you can put on an island and he helps shut down one side of the field on a regular basis. Go look up the Seahawks coaching staff when discussing Sherman. Go look up Rex Ryan during his days with the Jets and they had Revis and what having him did for their defense.

If you believe a CB can be a lockdown corner in this league for years to come, you grab him with no second thoughts.

He isn't being evaluated as an outside corner, Guru.

He has done a fanstatic job, much better than 2016 OScan (and almost as good as 2014 OScan, but for different reasons).

Just checked the Patriots and they have 3 of their last 9 still on the roster; none is a starter.

Proves once more how hit and miss (mostly miss) drafting is.

We had good defensive teams, not great. When I think great, I think of the '85 Bears or 2000 Ravens or the 2016 Broncos.

Our defense this year is pretty good. We can make a run this year if we remain healthy. Our OL and Zeke are major reasons why.

In our Super Bowl runs, especially our first two, the most points we gave up in the playoffs were 21. Our next Super Bowl run, we gave up 27 against the Packers. The defense was great, we were an all-around great team.

And no, we need more than just a "pretty good" defense to make a run. Also, it's 5-1 and we are just hitting the mid-season. Slow down.
