Let's wait and see the 2 contacts before we see who's laughingOut with Amari Cooper. In with Antonio Brown.
They upgraded while turning their 3rd and 5th round picks into a 1st rounder.

Honest question. If the Cooper trade never happened and the Cowboys were in need of a #1 WR and wanted Antonio Brown, who thinks they would have gotten him for a 3rd and 5th round pick?
We would have given up a 1st rounder and you know it.
(GMs don't matter.)
It looks like they are looking to build a more long term contender. They probably realize the tank model doesnt work in the NFL, and they are adding assets through roster turnover. Stockpiling assets while maintaining a competitive team. They will probably be very active in FA too with players that will likely only be there for a couple years.Kind of like this deal for the Raiders. Antonio Brown will be 31, but he likely has a few more very productive years in him. The Raiders also have a ton of cap space so can absorb the additional guarantees. For a 3rd and 5th that seems like a good deal if they can rebuild and can turn the ship around in a hurry.
Many will say the trade for Cooper was a win for the Raiders now that they have Brown, but 6 years age difference is a big deal in acquiring a productive receiver. I do believe Cooper is just scratching the surface and I don't have concerns now knowing the Brown trade.
I'm pretty confident the Cowboys would have paid a 2nd rounder for Brown had they been in the market for a receiver.

Yep. Great move.Out with Amari Cooper. In with Antonio Brown.

My money is on Gruden turning it around.
I mean it this time.
Yep.. they ended up with Brown and a 1st round pick.Stupid? They traded Amari Cooper, a 3rd round pick and a 5th round pick for Antonio Brown and a 1st round pick.
Now Brown could end up being a malcontent but on face value that's great for them.
LolWait, I thought IR said he was traded to Buffalo...
This is a reminder of what trade value actually is in the NFL. Brown is a surefire HOFer and the Raiders get him for a 3 and 5. It is amazing.
Give it time. They haven’t used their picks yet.So minus Cooper and Mack plus brown is turning it around?
And then immediately paying that 7 year senior WR 20 mil per year.
He’s gonna be happy because he’ll get his stats and there’s no JuJu to take his shine. But in a division with the chiefs and chargers, they’re 3rd at best for the foreseeable future.
now all the Raiders needs to do is add a top RB and fill their offensive line with 1st round picks then we can have a fair comparison of Carr and Dak. Oh thats right Carr already had a higher completion percentage and more yards passing last season than Dak.Out with Amari Cooper. In with Antonio Brown.

I’d say it looks more like Gruden is using the Jimmy model from the early 90’s compiling additional 1st round picks. If Gruden uses them as wisely as Jimmy did I’d expect a pretty quick turnaround. The raiders seem to be using the Jerry Jones GM model from the early 2000s. Stupid move IMO.
You got that right!Honest question. If the Cooper trade never happened and the Cowboys were in need of a #1 WR and wanted Antonio Brown, who thinks they would have gotten him for a 3rd and 5th round pick?
