Any chance Dallas could get some surprise help from Okoye?

I'm pulling for him to do well. Not expecting much, so any positive contribution from Okoye is welcome.

So 4 sacks in 1 season while playing as a backup is not impressive? Nick Hayden has 2 sacks total in his 6 year career. Crawford has 3 in two years.
Sure, it's an impressive year. It is also an outlier and it doesn't mean anything moving forward.

I would expect more out of Whaley. I think Okoye is a good guy but it is a lot to ask for him to come back from that.

I never say never though.

Yep, and he got lost about 80 pounds if I remember right. He was close to dying.

He is expected to make a full recovery, but I don't know if that means he can by the player he was. His close relationship with Marinelli led to them taking a flyer.

What a tremendously welcome surprise this would be.

recovery that his ailment will allow he is on meds and that will not change ever.

That was his 1st season playing with Marinelli. Melton and Paea were the starters. Melton had 7 sacks and Paea had 2.

Who said he only had one good year? Drafted at 19 years old. I believe the youngest ever. 5.5 sacks as a 20 year old rookie NT for Houston. 11 sacks in 4 years with Houston. 5 sacks in 25 games with Marinelli's Bears as the backup 3-tech. 8 times as many sacks in the same amount of years as Hayden.

I guess you could ....also remember Whaley is on the team as well and should be healthy by now.

I kind of doubt either make much difference myself but who knows.
I bet the cowboys think they have all the DTs they need already on the roster, setting up fans to be real disappointed on draft day.

I want one of the young pups to step forward and show that they belong. Really would love Bishop to establish himself as our 1 technique and Whaley to come back completely from his medical red shirt to share time at 3 technique.

I spent some time googling this because I was curious, I found articles that said he was cleared to practice in November but absolutely nothing after that. Given the type of condition he had, if he was medically cleared six months ago he should be in the off season conditioning program and should be a candidate for reps in training camp. Its a wildcard obviously, but he was medically cleared to practice.

Extremely intelligent (I'm talking true intelligence, not just football IQ. Think Travis Frederick. Won some awards/scholarships, I believe). Also extremely high character. Really hard not to root for a guy like this. Also a great physical specimen. Big boy (would be our second biggest DT behind Brent) but plays like a 3-tech. Has put up impressive numbers in the past. Really hope he can produce this year.

Yep. Was 19 when he graduated college, and chose Louisville over Ivy league schools because he wanted to play football if I remember correctly.

Zero percent chance. If he makes the team it probably means our DTs suck.

Trick question. Any number multiplied by zero is still zero.

(and I'm basically a Hayden fan on run downs)

I thought Hayden had 2 sacks in his career. Okoye has 16. That's what I meant.
