I think people are talking that way because it is in their hands. If they win OR the Eagles lose, they win the division. The Eagles need to win AND for the Cowboys to lose.

While I pick the Cowboys to win, I'm nervous that everybody and their dog are basically assuming that we've already secured the #2 NFC seed in the playoffs. No one has even suggested the Commanders have a chance in this game. I find that odd. After all, it's a road game, the Cowboys offense haven't looked great since the Eagles game. Of course I'm not suggesting the Cowboys shouldn't win, but I'm not seeing a blowout. I think the Commanders make it tough for most of the game. What say you?
Yes, this is the NFL.

Who would have thought the Eagles would lose to the Cardinals and for them to give up their #2 overall pick.

I think the chance is pretty small that they pull the upset. I guarantee this board will be in meltdown mode if we win a close game though.

If there's any chance Rivera is going to push to pull of an upset he'll be fired by the Washington FO before the game.

They 100% don't want to give up the 2nd overall pick.
I hearing because of strength of schedule they might fall to 4th anyway. What a season for the Commanders.

I follow them and have a lot of close friends who are fans of theirs (grew up in DC).

They haven’t played well on either side. But they are loaded with playmakers. McLaurin, Dotson, Samuel, Gibson, Robinson.

Defense isn’t great, but Fuller always gives us fits.

Remember they are slotted in the 2 spot in the draft. A win drops them down to 7/8. Don’t think they want to lose this spot

It would serve the Eagles right if Washington laid an egg. Remember that crap the Eagles pulled in 2020 by benching Hurts with Eagles winning and screwing the Giants.

Of course, they have a chance. This is the NFL. There are no East West Texas States in the NFL.

Maybe they'll fire him tomorrow and hold a quick contest for fan coach of the day to try to boost fan morale.

If the game gets close in the final two minutes we have McCarthy calling plays on offense and Quinn on defense...so yes, based on past results they have a chance. One will give them the ball again with plenty of time and the other will let them cruise in with ease for a touchdown. It's a one-two punch.

They split with us last year. It’s a division game. Crazier things have happened for sure.
Week 18 of last year the Cowboys still had a shot at the division (with some help), played their starters and laid a big fat egg at Washington.

If anything that experience could help 12 months later. This is Washington's Super Bowl (players don't care about draft position). They'd love to knock off Dallas.

There's talent at the skill positions on offense, there. Their OL was leaky in our Thanksgiving game. Hankins will be back, we've played the run better. I only fear their DTs and LBs on defense. I think we can move the ball and score. I'd feel better if we could somehow run the ball.

We never seem to make things easy for ourselves. We should win....but Philly should have won last week. We should have beaten the Cardinals.

I know many are thinking the Commies won't want to give up the draft spot. I disagree. I think they are in a win-win situation. They can lose and keep a high draft pick, or they can win and end the season on a good note. Plus, it's always great for them to hurt us in any way possible. I also don't think players give a rip about draft position.

It's the NFL.

There's almost never "no chance."

What's worse, we embarrassed these guys on national TV over Thanksgiving when everyone was watching. What's worse, no matter what ownership wants, the guys playing the game on the field are all jockeying for a roster spot next season, whether with WAS or otherwise. They're going to play hard.

I'll say this. If we lose the turnover margin, I have no doubt WAS is capable of winning. They played the Niners close through 3 quarters on Sunday.
They played us close on Thanksgiving through 3 quarters.

Did very many think Arizona would beat Philly? There's always a chance. Just have to hope the good Cowboy team shows up. We blow them out and then we can start resting players.

With a loss Washington has the #2 pick in the draft, winning the game would be a nice parting gift from Ron Rivera to the team owners,,,
