Any Chance Wade Gets Option Without Playoffs???

Mark my words....

If Wade is not retained for 2010....

Jason Garrett will be our next head coach. I do like Garrett, I thinks hes one of the best offensive coordinators and coaching/football/evaluating is in his blood.

I think he's pretty middle of the pack. Ton of talent will make anybody look good. The offense was good before Garrett.

He has some serious shortcomings that have cost Dallas in the past and will cost Dallas if they show up in the future.

Good coaches put players in positions that maximize their potential. Martellus Bennett has been a huge disappointment this year and I think a good amount of blame falls on Red's shoulders. Martellus is a MONSTER and outsizes any person who could line up across from him. Combined with his ability, he should get a look every time Dallas in redzone situations yet there have been multiple times where Dallas in the redzone and near the goal line and Bennett isn't even on the field.

The time spent practicing the Wildshat and making it classified would have been better served practicing a few screen plays. Pretty much 1 play all season.

Play-action was nearly non-existent last week and I'd wager it's been used less frequently than it should all season.

Back-to-back fades, back-to-back slants to Hurd. Ditching the run at times over the past few years and a complete failure to find a decent rotation in carries this year are just a few things this guy is guilty of.

I think Jason is really fortunate that Romo is playing some damn good ball this year.

You can say what you want bro, but the Cowboys are the number three offense in the league. It's not been Garrett's fault. I dont think he gets enough credit. And I dont blame him sometimes when he ditches the running game. Because sometimes (like the Giants did) stack the hell out of the box. I dont blame him for wanting to air it out. I wouldnt waste my time running it either when teams do that.

Well, I guess as long as Dallas is #3 in the league, everyone is supposed to be happy and look the other way. Guess we're supposed to forget that Dallas had a good offense before Garrett and give him endless amounts of credit and slack.

and some times like the first Giants game, teams just sit back in coverage and let us run, yet Garrett still went pass heavy with a struggling QB.
You have to question his ability to make game time adjustment went that is a reoccurring theme.
Some times Garrett just out smarts him self and does half the job for the opposing defense with his playcalling

It seems the consenus is Wade is gone without at least 1 playoff win, maybe 2.

I would have to agree with the board, at least 1 win at a minimuim for Wade to have any chance at all.

Good responses in this thread, thanks for the feedback fellas.:)

Wade must win 1 and possibly even 2 playoff games to remain.

This might sound crazy, but I would rather see Joe D. as head coach before Garrett. He would be the fiery energetic leader Dallas needs and it might draw the team together as special teams straddles players from both offense and defense. Garrett would either be assistant head coach or be gone...

Yes, the O is doing well, and Garrett should get some of the credit. But sometimes I look at this team, a get the feeling the Romo and Co. are doing well despite Garrett, not because of him.

If Garrett was so bad wouldn't the ranking be much worse?

Good point.

Kinda like Romo makes this o-line look way better than what it really is.

Switzer won a Super Bowl. Was he a good coach?

Wade is toast. Garrett is going to follow him in the fall. Jerruh needs to keep his pretty new stadium filled and a team who has 15 year playoff drought is going to have a hard time doing that. Garrett is not going to keep fans in the seat, isn't going to create a buzz, isn't going to bring immediate gravitas to the team, isn't going to stand up to Jerruh and keep him from bad decisions, isn't a proven head coach, hasn't displayed flawless Offensive Coordinator skills, but he could turn out to be a good HC, I just don't think he will here.

Also, bringing in a quality winning coach, like Parcels did, gives jerruh immediate credibility and breathing room to make further bad personnel choices. The media attacks that Wade has suffered this week would never occur against Parcels or a top guy like Cowher, at least for a few seasons. Jerruh seems to vacillate from quality to yes men depending on whether he thinks the team can outplay the coaching, see Switzer.

After the present yes man, I think Jerruh will move to a proven winner to give him the reputation of a good GM and keep his seats filled, create the talk he wants, and show his committment to the team.

If he doesn't get to the NFC Championship Game, I think we should move on.

Sadly, even if we don't win a Playoff Game, some here will be preaching "continuity" and try to convince everyone that Wade Phillips should stay. They will even point to his winning percentage in the Regular Season as proof that he should stay. How do I know this you say, because i'm already starting to see it :).

Let's just hope Jerry Jones isn't among that crowd.

His future with the cowboys looks a lot like your future on the zone
