Im ok with Twill....... although i think he has suspect hands, but neither him or Crabtree are the deep threats i think we need.

Outside of Green Bay, show me another team that spreads the ball around as much as Dallas does and have their #2 WR have 8 TD catches? He's 6'2 and ran a 4.46 at the combine, and actually looks a little faster than that in game.

I'm not sure what more you want, really.

There's a 100% chance we see Dez in a Cowboys uniform next season.

Sure there are better #2 WRs in the league, however, I don't believe Williams is hurting the club. I'd venture to guess he is a 'average' #2 WR.

He is doing what is being asked of him.

Yes, in perfect world would it be nice to have a Golden Tate / Victor Cruz / Randall Cobb type in the WR2 spot? --- Yes. Those kinds of guys are more of luxury than a necessity however.

As a number of other posters have indicated there is no shortage to pass catches on the offense besides Dez in Murray, Witten, Beasley, etc.

People didn't think too much about Golden Tate after his first two years in the league. The term bust got thrown about quite easily about him at that time. Now 3 years later he is considered a luxury. What will Williams be like in 3 more seasons?

I have wanted Crabtree's kneecaps broken ever since this play.

Why not? Lol

I wouldn't want him just because our receivers look pretty good and we can spend that money on defense. Crabtree would be a little upgrade over Williams but would it slow the development of Beasely down? and could we use the money else where.

I'm not the biggest Crabtree fan, but he sucks? I don't think he sucks, I think the QB throwing to him sucks. Injuries are the biggest problem with Crabtree, not talent.

i agree, and the funniest thing about it is that San Fran just paid him a huge long-term contract plus they are likely to lose (or run off) the only coach that hasn't sucked since "the Much".
I think we already paid for "a Crabtree" type when we spent a 5th last year on WR Street. Hopefully, we've learned our lessons about spending big on a FA WR with Roy Williams and Joey Galloway. Hopefully we'll just pay to keep those that we've already home-grown (including Beastly).
Really nothing against Crabtree, but I'll pass and use the money on MUCH more important positions….like ANYWHERE on defense

I'd rather take my chance on Blackmon. Less risk, higher reward.

I agree with the rather take a chance on Justin Blackmon and the higher reward part. However given the suspensions, and the fact that he hasn't applied for or been reinstated at this point, I do not have any idea why you could say there is less risk.

Because he won't cost you anything. JAX is likely to cut him during this off-season and he probably won't get paid more than the veteran minimum which means it would be a free look at a top ten talent.

HELL NO!!! On Inside the NFL, Sims said his sources told him. Crabtree was the one leaking info to the media that the players didnt want Harbaugh as a HC.. So We should pass & not to him..

The only 49er WR I'd love to have is Anquan Boldin, he's a beast and his physicality mimic's Dezs.

That part I agree with but don't be so sure about JAX cutting him, shorts is an FA and other than him they have a whole lot of nothing really at WR. And even at vet minimum, you are taking a risk on placing any trust in the fact that he is 1 failed test away from another year ban or worse.

On cost I see your point, but that is about where the low risk stops for me.

I'd rather have Cecil Shorts. Call me crazy, but he compliments our offense better.

I'm good with the group we have . As the season has moved along even Beastly has done his part. pay the star we have in Dez and let T-will and the mighty midget play supporting cast.

I'm all in on the Defense....find a couple there and get lee back and next year will be a blast....
