Any educated opinions on Gregory and his slow return to form

Return to what form? He hasn't played in this league, he has no form yet. I think he's long with quickness and some quick twitch power. However if someone gets his hands on him it's all over for the most part. Get him in the weight room and let him add some functional strength. He should be a real good player in a few years.

His form started during training camp he is not a normal rookie talent(I have seen normal). I so agree on the weight room time out.

OK must of misunderstood that first game where he kicked... and was double teamed routinely. It sure seems complicated. Guess we should throw out Z Martin, T Fred, T Smith, and B Jones rookie data and considered it an outlier. Not for use in fan oriented discussion.

the whole first game? you mean anytime someone has a good game that sets the bar for every game that must follow.

he's got a career ahead of him, not a game to look back on. geez, give the dude some time to work it out.

You realize you just provided a metaphor for life, well done.

You may be right about hiding in the weeds, I still fully believe in the wisdom of crowds. I am always proud to read some of these discussions/emotions. I love seeing the different perspectives that do not ever appear to myself when considering a situation and frequently have a light bulb turn on.

You are right about that. I feel the same way. But we all love our Cowboys. Go Cowboys!

Sorry, I am late to this party. Got benched.

I think the biggest thing holding Gregory back at this point, is being buried behind Hardy and the team not rotating DE's as much as they want to. Obviously the injury was a factor, but according to Gregory he's been healthy for a few weeks. I also think our poor showing in run defense has limited Gregory because I don't think they trust him to hold up at the point of attack. He'll get more opportunities as we play with more leads.

I was excited to see Lawrence at the WDE spot on Sunday though. He came in and immediately got a pressure and was in on a sck. I think that is a more natural position for him. I would like to see Hardy and Crawford rotate at the SDE with Lawrence and Gregory at the WDE spot.

Gregory had some good rushes today, I think. He had some good rushes Sunday also. He's a smallish rookie that missed 6 weeks and is behind several competent pros. If he is learning to turn a speed move into a power move then he's taking a step forward. The big issue is that most people think if you don't get a sack you've done nothing.

I saw Gregory flash a bit today. That's progress.

I also saw him take like a 6-7 yard ride on the back of James Stewart.

Gregory looks like he weighs somewhere in the 225-235 range.

He needs to add weight and not lose his freakish speed. Though I guess you can live with your speed rushing DE occasionally having issues tackling a RB with a head of steam, though its definitely sub optimal.

Not sure I've ever seen a defensive lineman get a piggy back ride by a running back that way. That jumped out to me.

Hopefully now that Romo is done he can get snaps over Mincey since its very likely he wont be here next year.

Dear Cowboys,

Whatever happens in the offseason, please to not do to Gregory what you did for Lawrence the last offseason.

Thank you.

Not a surprise. Everyone thinks he dropped in the drat due to his pot problems. I posted in here at the time every Top Big Ten team ran right at him with tremendous success. He's a complete liability against the run. Hit the weight room and the food court Randy.

Looked to me today like the biggest thing slowing down Gregory is not playing. He's a guy that needs time to lull a defender to sleep and then hit him with that lightning fast inside move.

I say again. Crawford and Hardy to SDE and Lawrence and Gregory to WDE.
