Any news on Henson?

I was worried about them tinkering with his throwing motion, dont try to fix what's not broke ;) I just think the kid is pressing, and the pressure to succeed may be getting to him. Hope he rebounds,no more QB failures PLEASE!

Why doesn't Parcells just come out and say it like you just did? I think it would make the situation a whole lot better. He's talented raw and going through a motion change. Why all the tight lips?

:( Maybe Chief is right about David Lee not being the best one to tinker with Henson's mechanics...

He could not do any worse than Wade Wilson did when he was here.

Come on now.

That would be disclosing too much. Coach Parcells never does that.

And he's signed for, what, six or seven years?

That's a lot of time to devleop. ;)

I am will to be patient, but you have to worry that we could come out of this in year three of the experiment and realize we have a lost cause.

Risky, risky game.

Because it will not matter what Bill says the media will portray it the way they want to. Pretty much Bill does not care what the press thinks. It is kind of like the Miranda rights "Anything you say can and will be held against you" LOL

Maybe he has. Maybe Parcells has already told Henson what it is he want him to work on. The fact that he hasn't told the press or the fans is irrelivant. Parcells has never and will never do things to appease press row or the fan base. That's not who he is.

That Drew is talented, but raw, and going thru a motion change is common knowledge.

Bill doesn't need to "announce" it.

The SECOND he did, it would sound like he was writing DH off for another year.

And who knows, later this camp, it might all just 'click'.

Skills? Absolutely, in my opinion. He's got good size, is a smart fella, has a strong enough arm and can fire them in tight holes when he gets going.

I really think he's struggling with the mental parts of the game right now. In my opinion, he's so concerned about his throwing motion it's bogging him down and not allowing him to see the field in its entirety. I could be way off, but it seems that way to me.

Henson never struggled with wobblers last training camp. Yet this season, a lot of his passes wobble -- especially the deep ones, which he's underthrowing a lot (especially in the two scrimmages).

If it is a mental thing, it can turn around at any time . . . if he turns it around. You never know when it might start clicking. I think he just needs to find some rhythm with the new throwing motion so he starts feeling confidence in it, you know what I mean?
Great insight, and I agree with it wholeheartedly. I just think that Henson needs more time to adjust mentally. If he gets it mentally, he could be a phenomenal quarterback.

For all those saying that "We shouldn't have fixed what aint broke" with Henson's delivery, who says it wasn't broke? Playing 3 years of baseball can screw up your mechanics. Henson's delivery was way too long, IMHO. Its great that he looked great in 7 on 7 drills in traiing camp last year, but in real games against real competition taking that long to get rid of the ball leads to RW McQuarters jumping your out route on 3rd and 2 and taking down the sidlines 45 yards for an easy TD.

Thanks for the info Dale. Man I apprecaite all the info. you give this board. Do you think there is a chance he could still beat Romo out for back up or is Romo just looking so good its no contest? Is there a chance he could be released?

Those are good points; but it also makes sense for Parcells to say exactly what he's been saying all along...let the QBs actually play in a few pre-season games with all the world, (and the press), to see and then respond to the questions about the QBs performances.

I agree in principle. I don't agree about the McQuarters thing. That was caused by pressure and disruption of timing rather then delivery IMO but you have a point.

I don't think BP wants to make excuses for Henson, in his mind it would be babying him. He expects his QBs to be tough mentally and if Henson can't take it then he's the wrong guy. I think thats why he got rid of Hutchinson, he didn't think he had the mental toughness with the whats my role, crybaby attitude.

I wouldn't be surprised if Henson gets cut ... it's been apparent to me since last year that Parcells doesn't have a very high opinion about Henson ...

He states the obvious about alot of other players. Doesn't it make you wonder when BP doesn't want to talk about a player? Henson and Thompson are the two most anticipated players for me on Saturday. Build ups like that can't be helpful for production.

I don't know what Dale's comments will be, but from Parcells comments today about Romo, what I personally can conclude is Romo is not struggling as much as Henson.

But doesn't seem like he is doing all that well either or significantly better than Henson that he has upper leg to be No. 2. Romo, from what BP said, is making too many mistakes still for his liking.

My guess would be, if season started today, Romo would be No. 2 but that might not stay that long or is certain to be so by season end, much like last season.

I'm not surprised you feel that way since you haven't wanted the kid from day one. The facts are BP did want him and he has a contract that should ensure that he gets a few years of development before a decision is made on him.
