Any of you scared of Philly?

to answer the topic's question i ask you a question...

is there a kid afraid of Santa Clause?

I was..

My mom brought me to the mall to sit on Santa's lap and I went nuts :

As for the Eagles, I'm expecting sort of a similar game as the game at the LINK last year with us not getting dominated for 95% of the game this time. In other words, a defensive sturggle of sorts, but I think we'll control the tempo a little more than we did last year and squeeze out a W.

Cowboys - 20
Eagles - 17

The eagles had to play straight up against the Pack because their DB's are bad.

I do not know if this is injury or just poor performances.

But if this is the game they bring on Sunday, Dallas will be firmly in first place come Sunday night.

To complicate this, their front seven got zero pressure on Favre.

And does anyone really believe the Packers, who were a lottery team last year, and will be again this year, have a defense that compares to ours?

If you research the defenses in the NFC East, Dallas is top 5.

The rest, Commanders, Eagles, and Giants, are lower than 20th.

I would not ever say never in this scenario.

But we are the better team.

No matter which field we play on.

I am not scared of them, however, I respect the fact that if we aren't on top of our game, they could put an arse whoppin on us.

Exactly, This is where Parcells earns his Cowboy stripes, because on paper we are better than Philly on O and D, So it comes down to gameplan and performance. And if he has them right, we should win....

Yeah, all over Europe and in Britian "Father Christmas" is a scary figure to little kids. It is a ploy used to help keep them in line.

So what was your point again?

well you two just both hit me in my gut, i was trying to show that the eagles are like old santa not that scary but apprently i was wrong...WAY TO GO GUYS!!!!! :banghead:

nah, they're gonna need to find a running game when they play the NFC East again

you saw what the Giants did to em second half

Scared of Philly? No!

Take them very seriously? Yes!

They are a team we can and should beat but so was Jacksonville. If we don't bring our A game we could very well drop this one. But if we come in firing on all cylinders we could blow them out as well. I hope we go after them like we did in our first game against them last year; pull out all the stops and just overpower them.

My feelings exactly!

If we play like we know we're better (which we are), this should be no contest. Dallas is more talented, deeper, and healthier.
The Cowboys have no business losing this game.

All Philly has going for them, this is their "Katrina" game.
This game is an even bigger for them, than it is for us.... They have more to prove. This is the most anticipated game of the year, it will get HUGE ratings!

Yeah I agree, they don't really have a back that can just chew the clock when they have a lead. If they can get a lead on Dallas, it will be tough to hold without running in the second half or forcing turnovers on defense.

We're the more balanced team, no doubt about it.

The only thing I worry about with this game: if we were to lose and lose it with, say, Bledsoe playing really poorly, it's the one circumstance where I could see TO acting out in a way that's detrimental to the team.

That said, I really don't understand the press that Philly's getting this year. I didn't think they looked at all strong last week against a weak SF team, and GB could have really made a move to win the game tonight at the end of the 3rd quarter if Driver had just held on to a couple of very catchable balls.

I am not scared of Philthy. In fact, since Parcells has been coaching the Cowboys, I have never felt more confident in the Cowboys beating Philthy at Philthy than I do now.

However, I am concerned with LJ Smith, ChunkySoup, and Trotter. If we can keep LJ Smith from converting 3rd downs, pressure ChunkySoup consistently, and stonewall Trotter, I think we will be in good shape and win 27-13.

If not then I think we win 27-24.

I'm not scared of Philly I'm scared of Mcnabb....We need to put pressure on this guy big time.

I think Ware will do a spectacular job covering him

they better have Ware chasing McNabb, not Westbrook

I've been to Philthy and it's a very scary place. The Eagles fans are as nice as they come.

The team scares me a little, too. The Cowboys can win, but the Eagles are playing well.

Cowboys can win, no doubt. I hope no one is scared of them.
We need to have some long drives, with some JJ here and MB3 there, and then some big plays with TO and TG. This should keep them honest on the blitzes and also keep McNabb off the field.

I'm more worried about their bunghole fans throwing batteries at TO's helmetless head. There are too many Haynesworths in that pathetic crowd.

let's not be scared, but also not dismiss a team that will come ready to play. This is far from a sure win game for us.

Seems like this exact quote is uttered by someone every week.

This thread is typical of many fans - overreacting to one game and not realizing that things change week to week in the NFL.

Anyone who takes McNabb and the Philly team lightly is guilty of this.

REMEMBER THIS - while we looked impressive Sunday, it was against a very bad team. Philly is much better than the Titans.

That's not to say we won't win - I believe we will and I believe we have better overall talent. I just don't believe it is a certainty or that it will be a cakewalk. Philly has enough talent to win if we don't come out playing as well as we can.

The Philly fans here Still can't get it in their heads that it's 2006, not 2004 and their not the most dominate team in the Conference any more, everybody still respects them, but fear them,no.

Dominate? Name the Eagles fan who said we were the dominant team?
