Julius Jones is tearing it up this year he already has 494 yards which is sixth in the league. this is the best start of his young career.

Nope. Didn't notice it. Good job catching these under-reported and un-noticed facts.

He'll be first once those other backs start hitting their byes.

Well, 3rd anyway. Barber leads the league and he's had his bye. Dunn's also post-bye and ahead of JJ.

Now if the Cowboys can hold Tiki down this week...

Julius just seems to me like he's more of a mature back. He has more patience and trusts his o-line to make holes as opposed to just plowing forward. He just needs to avoid the nagging injuries this year, and he'll be playing in Hawaii come Feb.

he's just gotta stay healthy

Which brings up the question, is he? I know his hip was bothering him after that hit he took in the red zone, he never came in after that. Any updates?

We need to get our backs more involved in the passing game!!

9 completions in 5 total games. Teams do not have to worry about that!

I'd almost say why bother playing your starting RB in a game thats basically over.

It looked to me that he took a helmet to the thigh. I would think he has a nice thigh bruise the way he was stretching it on the sidelines.

I think you're seeing not only Julius' natrual improvement but also the effect of having a receiver like TO. Have teams been able to stack 8 men in the box? Are they doing so less than last year? I could be totally off and going solely on perception, but it seems like he finally has a little more room this year.

he was out on the field and he, barber, and one of the coaches were just looking at each other. i think he came off so barber could get some time

He could challenge for the top spot if he gets a few breaks and starts stretching a few of those 10-12 yarders into 40-50 yards TD runs. The way he is running and seeing things its just a matter of time.

I think a lot of the criticism of JJ last year after returning from his ankle sprain was unfair. He didn't really get healthy until the end of the year and it showed in his games against Washington and Carolina late last year. Maybe Julius is the franchise back we've been looking for after all.

Heck yeah, I've noticed....the silence has been deafening in the media though.

Good to know I'm not the only one ticked off by that.

We probably throw to a RB on 1st and 2nd downs less than any other team in the league. That would make blitzing teams think twice.

you're...spot on...in that assessment, BP said 2 or so weeks back that teams are game-planning for TO, that usually means pulling a S to help out in coverage

yah but is it enough for him to warrant a bigger contract when his time is up...it will be interesting

I think Parcells makes a good point that Julius now trusts the play and understands what he was trying to teach him. He has let go of the instincts that lose play. Now, and Parcells mentioned this, he has to learn to combine his instincts with his discipline. When he does that, he will become an elite back. Right now he is leaving yards on the field. When he puts instinct with the discipline, he will be breaking lose in scary ways.

Go out into the world, young Grasshopper.
