There's an area called Manayunk that has nice bars and restaurants. Not as touristy or dirty as South St. If you want to see where all the rich people live and do high end shopping go to the Main Line (Lancaster Ave). I went to the game last year and repped Cowboys gear and nobody said a word. Of course the stakes were not as high, it was not a night game, and I had seats on the 50 lower level so I was not amidst the sediment of humanity that exists at the upper levels...

People are letting their sports bitterness get in the way.

Philly is actually a pretty decent town. Very good in terms of selection of restaurants, quality of restaurants, etc. The historical area is very nice as is the area around Boathouse Row and the Art Museum which is one of the best in the country. Like most major cities they have their crap holes but I doubt many tourists are heading to the crap neighborhoods in NYC or Chicago or Washington DC either.

Where are you staying?

Beyond getting a cheesesteak, not really. Pat's if you want cheese whiz on it, Geno's if you don't. And I would not advise wearing a Cowboys jersey at any time.

Tony Luke's is pretty good too if you go for the chicken cutlets or pork with broccoli rabe. I lived in Philly for a while back in my younger days and beyond some good neighborhood bars and maybe the historical sights in center city, I can't really remember what the city has to offer.

You could go see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall but you being a Canadian, you probably hate the history of our country.

I don't know. Maybe just start peppering your face with jabs and douse yourself with some beer to get ready for the game.

I dont hate this history of your country at all. Ive been studying American history since i was in high school, but thank you for making assumptions about me based on where I live. Kind of ironic actually.

Just because most Americans care nothing about Canada, doesn't mean the feeling is mutual.

Oh i know, its just really annoying to be placed in the same category when I am a student of history, not just our own, but history as a whole. But hey, im Canadian, what do i know right?

Having been to a Dallas-Philly game at the old Veteran's Stadium years ago, I would say be very careful. Philly really is no place for fans of opposing teams....especially Cowboys fans. After my experience there, I will never return.

Be safe and I hope you have a good time.

Not sure where I got Second street. lol I knew it was something with an S. I liked it when I visited there some years back.

South street not as fun as used to be. It was a trendy hip kind of place where u could see all kinds of folks that were doing there own thing and doing things to stand out. But then it became about trying to be different just to stand out and that got stale. Still has a lot of bars but the nicer ones are in old city and other parts of center city

If you're a history dork like me, Independence Hall is a must. One of the cooler things I've seen in that regard.

But you're a Canadian, so that might just be an old courthouse to you. LOL

Hey guys, as a lot of you know im heading to the game on Sunday from Toronto. Anything in particular anyone here would recommend seeing or doing in the city of Brotherly Love?
The art museum is nice. Old city is a cool place to see. It's the historic part and has great bars. Ritten house square is nice. Priciest place in town but the old brownstone homes in and around that area are awesome. You can checkout boathouse row off Kelly drive where they have the rigata boat races. Wissihicken park is a great wooded park where u can jog walk or bike. It's huge and covers 27 miles or so along the northwest area of the city. Main Street on manayunk it's lots of fun. Decent restaurants and bars that are reasonable. Lots of fantastic restaurants in center city if you like fine dining

LOL, jeeze you guys really think being Canadian I know nothing about American History. That is actually one of the main sites id love to see. So much history in that one building, along with the Square. George Washington stood in that building for crying out loud lol. Im really excited to see that
