I live about 45-60 minutes from the stadium. I have been to Cowboys v Eagles games at the new stadium. I didn't wear any Cowboys gear when I went. It was interesting because I was looking around the stadium and could spot other cowboys fans by their reaction to the plays on the field. None of them were standing and cheering when the cowboys did something good. They seem to know better. However when the eagles scored I could just tell by the lack of cheering and standing who was a cowboys fan in hiding.

People in philly like to say the media paints them in a negative light.....Well just know that the last game I went to at the Linc I was parked about 50 yards away from a car that was set on fire because it was cowboys fans who drove the car. I remember sitting in my seats at the beginning of the game and I could see smoke rising up over a low part of the stadium. I didn't know until later that it was a carBQ of a cowboys fan.

Now this was a fairly meaningless game that we won and it wasn't an 8pm game. So the late games are known to be worse.....

Go watch your team....Just be careful.

Yeah, there are always going to be some bad apples and drunken rowdy folks do all kinds of things.

When the phillies won the world series the town went crazy and people were climbing up street poles on broad street and lighting parked cars on fire. I rememeber seeing it on the news and the police looked like they were just going to "manage the crowd" which meant they werent doing much.

Hey guys, as a lot of you know im heading to the game on Sunday from Toronto. Anything in particular anyone here would recommend seeing or doing in the city of Brotherly Love?

Philly is a cool town....
You can do regular stuff like the liberty bell, independence hall, and the art museum.
South Street is cool.. (I'm not a steak eater, but Geno's and Pat's is overrated)
Reading Terminal to pick up eats...
Society Hill has a nice bar and restaurant selection as well...
Broad St heading towards City Hall is a pretty site this time of year..
Walnut Street also has a nice bar and restaurant selection.

Edit: a lot of beer gardens popping up off of Spring Garden... give a few a try

I know folks make fun, but the people are nice.... at the game after a few beers though... just chill... they will talk and if you talk back, it could get physical..... No need to wear any swag either, unless you want to be picked on........ just watch the game and enjoy them losing (it feels good to see that!)

Aside from the eagles - I love being in philadelphia. The only other place in USA id rather live is maybe California.

That blows me away considering in my mind, California is the most amazing place to live and Philly could be the last. No in-between like Colorado or Texas or South Beach?

I guess the reason I'm surprised is I've never been to Philly and everything is anecdotal to me (almost 99% bad). I shouldn't assume but the two choices definitely surprised me.

I like the east coast and i like living in a city that is diverse and has a lot of history. On the east coast Philly and New york are the two cities that probably have the most cultural diversity. I love old architecture. Ive been to Italy and spain and just really enjoyed the buildings that were built 800 years ago or older. So philly has a lot of great old homes and old buidlings. New york and Boston do as well. But New york is a little big for me and the parking is such a pain in the rear. And Boston is real nice but cold too long and not close to nice beaches. I can drive to a jersey or delware/maryland beach in 1/12 -2 hours.

I like the changing of seasons - I like snow in the winter time and the fall here is incredible with all the changing of the leaves. Spring is nice, there are a lot of flowering trees. Summer is hot and humid but its a short drive to the becah for the weekend. Philly is close enough to drive to D.C., New York or Boston as well.

Philadelphia is a pretty influential city as far as politics, economics and what not, it always feels like there is a lot going on here, the job market is decent here, things can be fast paced, never really dull quiet or boring.

There are a lot of really nice scenic areas right in the city like fairmount/wissihicken park, rittenhouse square, washington square. If you want to ne near water there is penns landing, delaware avenue.

There are a lot of restaurants serving different types of food from all types of different cultures. The arts program in philadelphia is good.

I always though Chicago would be a cool place to live but its very cold and it seems like its too far from the coast for me.

Things I would like about California - I like wine and there are plenty of vineyards there. A lot of big cities and also a lot of countryside too so i think that is nice a nice mix. Its on the coast and i like that. Typically very good weather - low humidity. I think I would miss the changing seasons after a while though.

You are spreading false rumors. That car that caught on fire was not a Cowboys' fans car. Turned out it was an Eagles fan's car that caught on fire because the idiot owner put his grill and hot coals too close to the car before going into the game.

Ha, good way to get that insurance write off on a clunker. Park it at the Linc and deck it out in Cowboys' stickers.....

Hey guys, as a lot of you know im heading to the game on Sunday from Toronto. Anything in particular anyone here would recommend seeing or doing in the city of Brotherly Love?

1. If you get a nice day (sunny and not terribly cold) I would recommend Big bus tour. It will give you a bit of history of city and allow you to see different aspects of city. You can start tour at Art Musuem (back steps) http://www.philamuseum.org/.

2. Go to old city - this will be your pubs if your into that sort of thing.

3. I am big fan of their art museum area. Great food at http://www.jacksfirehouse.com/default.aspx. This will also put you across street from old, castle style prison that is now tourist attraction http://www.easternstate.org/.

4. See Kelly drive - this is still in Art Museum area and give you chance for nice scenery. http://www.yelp.com/biz/kelly-drive-philadelphia

5. Reading Terminal - for food and lots of other things: http://www.yelp.com/biz/reading-terminal-market-philadelphia

Enjoy your trip. More importantly to be safe be respectful and don't over-due wearing your colors. You can still be cowboy fan without letting everyone know your huge Witten fan :)

Just curious.

What happened when you went?

Fortunately, nothing happened to me or anybody I was traveling with. It was more of the overall environment or experience created by other fans. Mother nature was looking out for us I guess. Let me explain. The weather was nasty; cold, rainy, windy so we were all bundled up in winter coats and had none of our Cowboys colors easily visibly. It took about 2 secs once we got to our seats to be thankful of that. First, there was a Cowboys fan a dozen or so rows behind us that was being a little mouthy. He almost got tossed down the stairs and security had to come separate the groups. Throughout the game, I heard various things about Troy Aikman's sexual orientation, etc which was probably pretty typical back then. I also heard Philly fans boo when one their own players was injured followed by screams to drag him off the field in whatever condition he was in so the game could continue. After the game, which Philly came from behind to win, we had to dodge fist fights between Philly fans to get the hell out of there as fast as possible.

I have also heard stories from friends whom I trust where opposing fans were peed on in the men's restrooms.

For reference, I have also been to several Cowboys-Commanders games in Washington, and a playoff game against Carolina in Carolina some years ago. At each, I was subjected to what I would call typical heckling by Commander and Panther fans but never once did I feel truly unsafe as I did in Philly.

I will not willingly return to the City of Brotherly Shove.
