Any theories on why Tony's throws were so high/off target today?

as for owens. Yesterday showed exactly who and what he has always been. 3rd qtr he scores and taunts the other team with his T.O. pose and then gets into it with their defense. then the 4th qtr he disappears and has a tantrum on the sideline. And I wont even go into his jogging and then trying to catch up to the ball nonsense.
Thank god for contract extensions, right?

It's enough already. If you're a truly great receiver you believe when the ball is in the air it's yours. Andre Johnson is a great receiver. Larry Fitzgerald is a great receiver. These are guys who don't need 5 yards of separation in order to make a play.

Then there is TO. Giving up on a route because he sees Polamalu approaching the void. Tony throws it up to give him a chance on it, but because he gave up on the route, noone is there but Polamalu. Then, Romo lofts one up to you later that gets caught by the wind, and instead of at least trying to make a break up on the under thrown ball, you continue to trot on the route you were already trotting on.

I can deal with all the other crap that comes with needing TO on your football team, but a lack of effort combined with his attitude at the end of the game is unnacceptable. You brag to anyone who will listen about how great your body is, how about using some of those superhuman skills to outmuscle a DB for a ball once in a while.

Three more years.

I share your guys' frustration with TO

a guy like Roy Williams you can just throw the ball in his area, and he'll use his big body to shield the guy

not so with TO who is probably bigger

and what's messed up is that Romo wants to/has to look at TO as his 1st and 2nd option, by the time Romo looks to Roy it's too late...if he even does

that route that led to the Troy INT was one designed to free up TO and get the ball to him, that's at least the 3rd time I've seen us try it, the 1st time it actually was near to being completed, it usually just sails out of bounds, the need to get TO the ball has consumed our offense, and Tony

He's never had a rocket arm. Just a good arm with a great release. He can't drive the ball into the wind the way QBs like Aikman, Elway, Marino, Favre and today, Cutler can drive it.

That and the fact that he is simply too footloose and care free to play mistake free football, cost us the game.

We need a HC who will ride his butt every week and let Romo know that care free-throw it where you want- football is unacceptable and will lose games in this league. Romo must have that preached at him on a constant basis. Parcells words about that subject should be ringing in his ears every time he drops back to throw!

His broken pinky froze up?

The crazy wind blew every throw way high?

WRs .. maybe the new hard sod (a complete overhaul earlier this week, after HS playoffs there tore the grass to ****) on the Steelers field slowed our WRs down (I read that T. Choice had to change cleats to compensate for the rock hard field ....) ??

The Pittsburgh women in the stands just overwhelmed him? (I've heard they're not so bad up there ...)

Anyone remember the 1976 season? Roger Staubach also broke his pinkie on his throwing hand. He was able to complete passes to recievers that were wide open but against better defenses he struggled to put the ball into tight spaces and the ball often floated high.

When Tony first broke his finger I told my boys about Roger and told them to expect some high throws from Tony the rest of the year.

That 1976 season was so frustrating because our defense was really playing well by the end of the season (like we are now) but the offense couldn't get it done against good defenses.
