I played several years ago. I had a 50 something Mage and Warlock I believe. I burn out on them rather quickly. I don't think I've ever played a MMORPG more than say six months. I think it's mainly because I'm introverted. Those are more social games and I'm anti-social :D

EDIT: I just logged into battle.net. I have a 61 Orc Warlock and a 66 Undead Priest.

Hmm... :p

I know what you mean though. I've found that it's hard for me to stick with an mmo. The only way I can really get into one is if I know someone that I'm playing with or if I find a good group of people in the game to play with pretty quickly. Otherwise I get bored quick too.

heh Introversion isn't about not having something to say. It's more about how dealing with lots other people saps your energy. (Extroverted people get energy from other people) Of course, pointless small talk (or talk about things that just don't interest you) sucks too.

When people here start to sap my energy, I just leave. :)

Absolutely, the only reason WOW was any fun for me at all was because my wife (girlfriend at the time) played and then a group of friends I know started playing. We all pretty much quit at the same time.

I'm sure it's possible to find buddies on WOW that you can play regularly with, but in my experience the only time guilds got together to do things was during raids. Otherwise you were pretty much on your own.

Yeah. I've definitely found that throughout my online gaming experiences, I've always had more fun sitting next to someone and playing versus playing alone or with people I've met through the game. Luckily, my wife (girlfriend really, but ehh, we live together, have a kid together, and dealt with her having breast cancer together) loves video games.

By far, the nicest gaming community I ever came across was Final Fantasy 14 (The MMO). People were overly friendly and super helpful. If I ever asked for help on a quest or something, I'd get several people willing to go out of their way to help. It was a bit of a culture shock at the time because I was so used to.... well.... WoW culture, which I'm sure you know what I mean. :p

I did have that experience later in the game but during vanilla it just seemed different. I was always in a helpful guild that did questing, pvp and raiding together. There was always tons of people online. I think that is why I liked vanilla so much more. Everything went downhill after BC. I still played for years after but I eventually gave up on it.

That's what I like about this server. Server population caps were at 3,000 online back in vanilla. There is regularly 4,000-6,000 people online on this server. So it's like vanilla, but even better.
