Anybody else hear Romo?

I thought Tony told wade that he thought he was a pretty piece of man flesh.

But my ears have been giving me fits so maybe I was wrong.

:laugh2:

like i said it didn't sound like he asked, he told him to kick a field goal. you don't tell your coach what to do.ever. it shows you don't respect him as a superior or have confidence that he is making the best decision for the team.

yeah you can disagree you may even be able to get away with/be justified in yelling at or arguing with him on the sideline after the fact but you don't tell him what to do. anybody thats played organized sports knows this
I've played...

You can say it, doesn't mean the coach has to do it. Saying "kick the field goal" is no different than saying "gimme the ball." The coach doesn't have to listen, and in the heat of the moment, it's hard to be totally polite. Stuff like this happens all the time and there's no reason to think that because Tony said it Wade is just a pushover.

It's been said already...but Wade actually made the right decision at the time and stuck to his guns.

I dont blame romo. I dont think it would have been that stupid to kick a FG there. Folk has 55 in him, IT was nice that we won but how many times have we been in that situation. Up by 3-6 points and relying on the Defense to make a stop at the end of the game. You guys cant tell me you actually had alot of confidence in the D when we gave the ball back to the Panthers up 6 with only 6 min left in the game.

Rather give it back to them deep in their own end, than at our 45 yard line--which is obviously what Wade thought also.

i get what your saying but i disagree that saying gimme/get me/i want the ball coach is the same as telling the coach to/you should/you have to kick a field goal. telling him to put the ball in my hands is different from telling him what unit to put out there (field goal vs. punt). thats a pure coaching call/decision which the QB should have no say in IMO cause it has nothing to do with him. he is telling the coach what call he should make/how to call the game and he has no business doing it, his job is the offense not the rest of the game. the fact that he thinks he can even suggest to the coach what to without being asked for it says he doesn't have confidence in his coaching decisions which goes hand in hand with him respecting him as a coach.

i do agree with the punt though. the longer the field for the defense the better.

wahwahwah

Just admit Wade is a pushover already!!
Why? What has he done to be a pushover...other than this which I don't agree with.

Give me something specific. I'm all ears....er eyes.

ummm Romo telling Wade to keep the punt team back and go for it on 4th down in the Philly game and Wade giving a "oh gee golly gosh okay go for it!" look

and they did go for it.....

peyton manning did the exact same thing, not one person questioned Dungy.

it's a stupid double standard

same as this game or the philly game?

philly, but it doesn't matter, if peyton waves the punt team off it's because he is peyton manning and he is a genius and a competitor, if romo does it it's because wade is a pushover and has clearly lost the team.

The whole concept is ridiculous and is a symptom of the fact that our fan base will never be happy, and will manufacture controversy when there is none.

Peyton has earned that right.

Romo has not

Case closed.

only in your head because it suits your point of view.

To that point peyton had the same number of rings as tony romo, it is no different.

you just don't like wade and it taints your ability to be objective.

case closed.

But we didn't go for the kick, so...............

1.it does matter cause its not the same situation, but it sounds like your using the philly one.

2. I've got no problem waving the punt team off to go for it but you better damn sure get the yards.

3. what i do have a problem with is a player telling a coach how to coach.

4. don't lump me in with the band-wagoners,casual fan, *****ing and moaning about everything fan cause I'm not i heard what i heard, i formed an opinion, i came here to discuss it.

we don't need another romo vs. peyton thread

You guys hear Romo chewing on someone. I didn't see who it was and haven't watched it again to find out but it was the second time we had to call a TO cause we couldn't get the call in time.

Tony yelled "Can't happen....No More" Then he said something else and i couldn't hear what he said. He was walking to the sideline right before they went to commercial.

He said that after the big personnel screwup with the backs that caused them to have to burn a timeout.

I thought it was uber-competitive. They had just gotten a bad penalty that moved them out of field goal range, and Romo had to scramble on third down. He got them close to field goal range again. Then you could hear him say, "Let's kick the field goal and put this game away..."

I loved it. I thought Romo was great for wanting to put the game away and doing everything he could to make that happen. And I thought Wade did great by doing to smart thing and playing field position and asking his defense to make a stop. Five more yards, and I thought Wade should have/would have kicked the field goal.

All in all though, that was just good football.

you are a touchy guy apparently.

don't say stupid stuff if you don't want to be called on it

romo wanted to do something, wade wanted to do something else, romo voiced it and you turned it into something you wanted it to be.
