why does it matter what game it is or what team it is?

Peyton Manning has done it more than a few times I'm sure, and nobody has called Tony Dungy a pushover. Romo does it twice, and people call Wade a pushover?

you know what? it is the same thing it's a hierarchy just like any business.

and **** it if you dont like the business example lets go military. romo is the field general, garrett is his commanding officer, wade is the secretary of defense and jerry is commander and chief.

your field general would never tell the secretary of defense what he should do with the navy(in this case special teams)

there has to be a pecking order

you don't even know exactly what he said or how he even said it. you have NO IDEA about the situation you're even arguing about, so how do you know it's different? how do you know he wasn't joking? how do you know they didn't cut off what he was saying before hand?

exactly! thank you. great point he wouldnt have said it to bill. i doubt FOUR and AUDIMAN played sports cause people who have know you dont tell a coach how to do his job.

like i said it didn't sound like he asked, he told him to kick a field goal. you don't tell your coach what to do.ever. it shows you don't respect him as a superior or have confidence that he is making the best decision for the team.

yeah you can disagree you may even be able to get away with/be justified in yelling at or arguing with him on the sideline after the fact but you don't tell him what to do. anybody thats played organized sports knows this

What is worse, for someone to try to tell you what to do? Or for someone to completely disregard your decision and do something else??

If someone tells you what to do it means they disagree with you and want you to change your mind, but they understand you have final say.

Peyton simply disregarded Dungys decision and ran the play he wanted. That's worse than what happened yesterday...

thing is though if he really think the field goal is the best option then he would send the unit out there anyway and the offense would be forced to come off or a TO would be called and he would still do what he wants but if the offense says we can get this yard or we can score, these guys are competitors and sometimes you let them prove it to you or maybe even prove it to themselves. especially if they need a spark you don't want to take that drive to win out of them.

but when the offense is coming off the field and its punt or field goal that has nothing to do with the offense and especially tony. he has no say and the fact that he thinks he has input worries me

Ive read this entire thread and have concluded that no one knows exactly what and or in what manner the words field gold were uttered. And to jump to any conclusion either way is faulty. I'll say this though at training camp were complimentary if him.

i admit idk verbatim what he said off of memory but i know my feelings ive expressed in this thread is what i felt as soon as i heard it and i knew what was said then and how it was said.

i also have said i could be wrong on how he said it/i heard it and ive read too much into it but i would not have started a thread if i thought that was the case. i was hoping more people caught it. but so far only a few heard it and its been 50-50 on the manner in which it was said

Did wade try the long FG? I don't think so. Romo or any player wanting to go for it and the coach doing it are two different things. Wade is no pushover
